Yamaha upcoming electric scooter, the E01 has been spotted doing its trial run in Japan, signalling the Japanese marquee EV plans for 2022.

According to reports, Yamaha organized a test ride session with media companies in an effort to get inputs on the electric scooter.

Despite being heavily wrapped up in camouflage, the silhouette is clearly similar to the E01 concept showcased at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.

Nevertheless, we could see the tiny almost circular twin headlamps at the front similar to the one available on the R1 and the Tracer 9 GT.

Meanwhile, the dashboard features an all-digital LCD display which could also feature the Y-Connect system once the production model is out.

The Y-Connect function allows riders to connect the instrument cluster to a smartphone which displays turn-by-turn navigation.

The E01 also gets disc brakes (front and rear), twin shock absorbers, 13-inch wheels, ABS, keyless ignition and riding modes.

The Yamaha E01 could make its way to Europe and the Asian market soon.

Yamaha has confirmed that the E01 and E02 electric scooter concept revealed two years ago in Tokyo will be headed for production.

Yamaha first unveiled the E01 and E02 at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show as a concept model.

Two years went by without any news, which triggered many to question Yamaha’s commitment towards electrifying its motorcycle range.

However, back in May this year, patent images have revealed a production-ready version of the E01 electric scooter followed by the E02.

In the latest development, Yamaha has announced its 2022 production plans for the European and Asian markets which will include the E01 and E02.

The E01 is an electric scooter equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle while the E02 is similar to a 50cc scooter.

Further details remained unknown at this point in time but E01 and E02 are likely to have a power output of 11kW (15hp) and 4kW (5.3hp) respectively.

Imagine an all-electric Vespa, which is the easiest summary of the latest product by British brand, One Moto.

While the majority of electric scooters and motorcycles tend to feature modern design, the Electa on the other hand took a different approach.

Its round headlamp, curved footboard, and classic-looking body panels resemble the Vespa range to some extent.

It also features a circular instrument cluster that can be connected to the smartphone via an app that allows owners to access geo-fencing and maintenance alerts.

However, the most impressive feature of the Electa is its battery range of 150km contributed by a 72V45Ah removable lithium-ion unit.

Despite the classic look, the Electa can reach a respectable max speed of around 100km/h.

The company also claimed that the Electa is capable of carrying a capacity of 150kg.

Electric motorcycle manufacturer VMoto Soco is scheduled to unveil a limited edition JL99 electric scooter at EICMA.

Based on a teaser photo that shows the scooter silhouette, the motorcycle features Jorge Lorenzo’s signature JL99 lettering.

Lorenzo also recently shared a photo of him with the Vmoto Super Soco CPx.

However, according to reports, the JL99 editions scooter won’t be based on the CPx; instead, it looks like it’ll be based on the more petite CU Mini electric scooter.

Interestingly, Lorenzo’s unique collaboration started as a joke by the rider to the company management about a special edition scooter named after himself.

Funnily enough, it triggers VMoto to produce the limited edition model with the 3-time MotoGP World Champion.

The ex-MotoGP star is also scheduled to feature at EICMA with the scooter.

The CU Mini features a 600-watt electric motor with a 0.96 kWh lithium-ion battery that promises a range of around 60km with a max speed of 60km/h.

Electric motorcycle company Zapp Scooter pull the wraps over their latest model, the 2022 i300.

The Zapp i300 is set to make its debut later this month in Paris and will head for Asia and the United States next year.

Interestingly, the i300 incorporates all recyclable materials with a combination of alloy exoskeleton and proprietary composite body instead of plastic components.

This helps the i300 to weigh at just 90 kilograms, making it one of the lightest scooters available.

The i300 comes with two 1.4kW portable battery packs that sit under the rider’s feet to improve stability.

The battery pack weighs about 5.4kg each and can be easily removed for recharging using an ordinary domestic power socket.

The range is set at around 64km and capable of doing 0 to 50km/h in under 3 seconds with a max speed of 96km/h.

The Zapp i300 will be available at a price of USD7,495 (RM31.6k).

BMW Motorrad set to amplify the two-wheel electric industry with the CE-04 as images of the electric scooter have emerged.

Interestingly, while other manufacturers tend to ‘overhaul’ the overall look of a motorcycle from the original concept design, BMW took a different approach.

The production product remains faithful to the concept bike revealed in November last year based on these spy shots.

The CE-04 retains the same front panel highlighted by the V-shaped headlights and a boxy profile that intentionally designed to accentuates the massive battery hiding underneath the body.

BMW Motorrad is yet to disclose further details of the CE-04; however, we expect the German automaker will officially reveal the all-new electric scooter later this year.
