EICMA 2021

Aprilia did really well in generating a buzz for the upcoming Tuareg 660 by placing it in an obscured box and putting it on display at the EICMA 2019.

However, it took more than a year for the Noale-company to unveiled the Tuareg 660, as it finally broke cover in July 2021.

While it shows the overall aesthetic of the motorcycle, Aprilia refrained from disclosing any information about the bike except we know it is powered by the same 660cc parallel-twin engine and fitted with a 21″ front wheel.

In the latest development, Aprilia has just dropped a 2.44-minute video of the upcoming Tuareg 660 titled ‘The Concept’ on its official YouTube channel.

In the video, Cristian Romeo Barelli, Brand Manager of Aprilia, talk us through the design process and how it came to know as the Tuareg without revealing detailed aspect of the bike.

As the Italian firm already confirmed attendance at this year EICMA 2021, we’ll have to wait for Aprilia to unveil the full details later officially.

Last year, Young Machine claimed that Honda is planning to revive the Transalp to compete in the middleweight adventure segment against BMW F 850 GS, KTM 890 Adventure and the Yamaha Tenere 700.

Fast forward to March 2021, Honda reportedly registered the Transalp nameplate in the United States, thus confirming the rumours by the Japanese publication.

Then again, this is Young Machine, and surprisingly they rarely found themselves on the ‘wrong side of the fence.

Latest reports now suggest the Japanese manufacturer will reveal the all-new Transalp at EICMA 2021.

Considering the Transalp could be the game-changer for Honda in the middleweight adventure segment, choosing EICMA as the platform for the official unveiling is a no brainer.

Despite no further details, the Transalp will likely receive the same 750cc engine found on the NC750X.

Meanwhile, Honda has confirmed its participation at the 2021 EICMA taking place in November 2021.

Royal Enfield, to follow Honda in confirming their attendance at this year biggest motorcycle event, the EICMA 2021.

Historically, EICMA has always functioned as the launchpad for every motorcycle manufacturers worldwide to introduce the upcoming model and provide a glimpse into the company next project.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 event was cancelled, which also led to manufacturer resorted to digital platforms.

Things look gloomy for 2021 when BMW Motorrad decided to pull out from any motorcycle show before Honda announced their participation for this year event, followed by Royal Enfield.

“We at Royal Enfield is delighted to be part of EICMA 2021 and are incredibly excited about the opportunity to connect with the wider motorcycle community after such a busy time for everyone,” said Royal Enfield, Head of International Business Arun Gopal.

At the same time, Benelli also announces their presence at the 78th edition EICMA scheduled from 23 to 28 November 2021.

“We are very pleased and honoured to confirm Benelli’s presence at EICMA 2021 and to once again take the opportunity to present our news on one of the most important stages in the world of two-wheeler,” announced CEO of Benelli and QJMotor, Yan Haimei.

EICMA announced Honda Motor Company would participate in this year EICMA 2021, taking place on November 23-28.

The Japanese marque decision to attend this year exhibition seems like a positive outlook for other manufacturers to follow suit. However, BMW Motorrad has already announced pulling the plug on all motorcycle show due to the current pandemic.

Nonetheless, due to the rapid rise of Covid-19 vaccination rates, there is a reason to be cautiously optimistic.

Since November is 8-months away, other manufacturers can still make a U-turn if they ever decided to participate the event.

“It is a concrete and conscious approach to protect the value of the event, the public and the whole sector of reference involved, with the structure of EICMA S.p.A. and the manufacturers committed to facing up to the complexity of the organization of the event in a context in continuous development.

“The path towards EICMA 2021 is distinguished by a reasonable expectation and a more flexible vision compared to the past. Sharing this new orientation therefore implies a surplus of compactness by all the players involved and the positive confirmation of Honda, together with the other significant names which have already assured their presence, go in exactly this direction. We hope that we can soon communicate other confirmations.

“The common objective is that we can once again gather around our passion for the products of this industry and reconquer the freedom to do what EICMA has been doing for over one hundred years,” said explained EICMA in a statement.

The very famous EICMA motorcycle show (International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition) may have its event cancelled this year due to concerns related to COVID-19, but they’re planning for a major comeback next year in 2021 located in Milan, Italy. And they’ve released the official dates. (more…)
