Ducati is known to create special-edition builds and sometimes does it with car brands like Lamborghini. Now though, Ducati has joined forces with Bentley to build an exclusive edition of their Diavel V4 muscle cruiser.

Limited to a mere 500 units and dubbed the ‘Ducati Diavel for Bentley,’ this premium motorcycle comes with a hefty price tag starting at £58,000 (MYR340,000).

Built upon the foundation of the standard Diavel model, it houses the formidable 1158cc V4 Granturismo engine, boasting a claimed 166bhp at 10,750rpm.

Unveiled during Art Basel week in Miami Beach, this collaboration marks the first-ever partnership between the renowned motorcycle and Bentley.

Additionally, 50 ‘Ducati Diavel for Bentley Mulliner’ models have been reserved exclusively for existing Bentley customers.

Retaining the core features of the standard Diavel, including the cast aluminum monocoque chassis, advanced lean-sensitive electronics, and a distinctive side profile, the special edition distinguishes itself through design elements inspired by the exclusive Bentley Batur.

The color ‘Scarab Green,’ sourced from Bentley Mulliner, adorns the bodywork, while bespoke forged rims finished in ‘Dark Titanium Satin’ emulate those found on the Bentley Batur.

The two-tone front grill, fairing, and upper tank elements take cues from Bentley’s powerful production car. The four-exit exhaust of the standard bike has been replaced with elongated, flatter tips.

Carbon fiber accents grace elements such as the headlamp covers, engine covers, radiator covers, and the rear bodywork, which can be interchanged between double and single seat designs.

This collaboration echoes Ducati’s previous venture into luxury car partnerships, exemplified by the release of the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini in 2020.

Both Bentley and Lamborghini are part of the Volkswagen Group, hinting at potential future collaborations with Audi or Porsche.

Adding an extra layer of exclusivity, 50 ‘Diavel for Bentley Mulliner’ bikes will be exclusively produced for existing Bentley customers, offering them the epitome of garage luxury at a price of £71,000 (MYR420,000).

These buyers can personalize their motorcycles in collaboration with Ducati’s Centro Stile styling team, choosing different colors for the seat, front brake calipers, carbon components, and rims. For a matching aesthetic, the bodywork can be painted in the same color as their Bentley car.

Each of these special Ducatis comes with a certificate of authenticity, featuring the model’s name and production number engraved on a plate on the right side of the bike. Upon startup, a special animation graces the TFT dashboard.

For those who prefer display over ride, the bike will be delivered in a personalized wooden crate. A matching jet helmet and jacket are also available, with further details at ducati.com.

Susah nak bayangkan benda ni terjadi kat Malaysia. Malah, takde peluang langsung.

It is difficult to imagine a world without motorcycles. Not only do they save time and money but they are also awesomely fun.

But according to reports out of the UK, there are some employers who are discriminating against their motorcycle riding employees for riding their bike on world-related journeys.

Well, believe it or not, the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) is sounding the alarm on exactly that.

According to Alex Parsons-Hulse from the BMF, they’ve caught wind of ‘several’ companies putting the brakes on employees using motorcycles for work-related trips. We’re talking about legitimate stuff here – visiting suppliers, meeting clients, or attending a conference. And to add fuel to the fire, there are instances where employers are saying, “Sorry, leave your bike at home,” when it comes to the daily commute. Smells a bit like discrimination based on transportation choices, doesn’t it?

The BMF isn’t sitting idly by; they want the scoop. They’re urging people to come forward and spill the beans on these situations. So if you are reading this from the UK and your boss has ever pumped the brakes on your bike for work trips or made you ditch it for the daily grind, the BMF wants to hear your tale.

It is difficult to imagine such a thing happening here in Malaysia, in fact there is no chance of it ever happening here. So our hearts go out to our motorcycle riding brethren in the UK.

In a much-anticipated reveal on October 3, 2023, Ducati introduced the world to the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally—a formidable off-road motorcycle designed to elevate the riding experience for enthusiasts.

Building upon the already impressive DesertX, the 2024 Rally edition brings a host of enhancements, notably in suspension and wheel technology, catering to the demands of serious enduro riders.

A Powerhouse Under the Hood

At the heart of the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally is Ducati’s robust 937cc Testastretta 11-degree engine. This powerhouse boasts a claimed output of 110hp @ 9,250 rpm and 92Nm @ 6,500 rpm, ensuring an exhilarating off-road experience.

Suspension Enhancements

One of the standout features of the DesertX Rally is its upgraded suspension system. The front suspension now boasts a 48mm KYB closed-cartridge fork, complete with adjustable compression and rebound settings.

Meticulous engineering has been employed to minimize cavitation, utilizing a closed-cartridge design, while friction is reduced through Kashima coating on the fork tubes and a diamond-like coating (DLC) on the sliders.

At the rear, a KYB shock absorber with a 46mm piston offers adjustable compression at high and low speeds, as well as preload and rebound adjustability.

These improvements translate to impressive suspension travel—250mm up front and 240mm at the rear. The bike offers a substantial ground clearance of 280mm.

To further enhance control, an adjustable Öhlins steering damper has been integrated into the handlebar, working in harmony with the upgraded suspension system.

Wheels and Tires

The DesertX Rally sees a significant transformation in its wheel technology. Billet aluminum hubs anchor the robust carbon steel spokes, which radiate outward to lightweight Excel Takasago rims.

These wheels collectively shed 0.5 kilograms of unsprung weight compared to the stock DesertX wheels. The wheel setup comprises a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, all wrapped in high-performance Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber.

Additional Features

Ducati has not overlooked the finer details of the 2024 DesertX Rally. The bike now features a high front mudguard, equipped with a split brake line to accommodate relocation.

Machined fork clamps, adjustable brake and shift pedals, and a distinctive Iron Giant livery—exclusive to this model—add to its visual appeal. These enhancements complement the existing suite of features offered on the standard DesertX.

Extended Range with Auxiliary Fuel Tank

For riders seeking extended range, Ducati offers an optional auxiliary fuel tank that mounts at the rear of the bike.

This accessory provides an additional 8 liters of fuel-carrying capacity, resulting in an estimated 40 percent increase in range compared to the standard 21-liter tank.

The 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally is poised to redefine the off-road adventure experience with its formidable engine, advanced suspension, and wheel technology. Whether conquering rugged trails or embarking on long-distance journeys, this motorcycle promises an unparalleled riding experience for enthusiasts worldwide.

Ducati Malaysia officially introduced the next-gen Ducati Diavel powered by the Granturismo V4 engine.

Since there is a lot to write about Ducati’s latest take on its latest mega cruiser, here are five things you need to know about the all-new Ducati Diavel V4.

  1. Engine

The Diavel has moved from its V-Twin setup to Ducati’s latest V4 engine.

Ducati has been synonymous with the V-Twin for quite some time but due to performance limitations, the Italian firm decided to move to the new V4 configuration that began with the Panigale V4 before naturally trickle down to the Streetfighter and the Multistrada.

However, the one fitted on the new Diavel is the Granturismo V4 engine found in the Multistrada V4. As a result, it features longer service interval and offers a mid range grunt.

According to Ducati, the Diavel V4 makes 168hp and 126Nm, making it more powerful than the Diavel 1260S although the latter makes higher peak torque at 129Nm.

  1. Weight

Thanks to the new engine, it allows Ducati to ditched the steel trellis frame on the previous generation Diavel for a new lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis for the Diavel V4.

As a result, Ducati saved 5kg from the engine and 8kg from the bike’s overall weight. That said, Ducati shed 13kg from the previous model.

  1. Comfort

This is the part where things got interesting because while it may be a cruiser, the Diavel V4 seat height registered at  790mm which is tall for a cruiser yet is low for a sporty naked bike.

Nonetheless, the handlebar is now 20mm closer to the rider which helps to improved riders ergonomics and comfort.

On top of that, Ducati adds more rear travel to the rear suspension which now sits at 145mm, 15mm more than the 1260. Ducati claimed that the longer rear travel allows for more comfort not just for the rider but also for pillions.

  1. Tech

There’s 5-inch TFT instrument display which you can access four riding modes including Sport, Touring, Urban and (newly added) Wet mode.

Also added is an up and down quickshifter, wheelie control and launch control as well as cruise control.

  1. Styling

The Diavel range is known for its striking looks and the V4 continues the general vibe with a similar stance.

That said, the new engine creates a slightly different bodywork and maybe not quite as aesthetic as the previous 1260. You could also argue about the missing trellis frame.

However, the biggest talking point are at the back, starting with the quad exit exhaust which is probably to signify the V4 configuration.

Also, the Diavel V4 features a new honeycomb taillight which looks absolutely bonkers. However, we couldn’t help but imagine the struggle of cleaning the tail light once you are done riding.

So what do you think about the 2023 Ducati Diavel V4? Will it be as amazing as the 1260 or better? Do tell us what you think at the comment section!

Ducati Malaysia officially introduced the Panigale V4 SP2 for the Malaysian market priced at RM299,900.

The SP2 is the second generation of the Panigale V4 SP launched in 2020. The latest build focused on weight reduction and increased performance thanks to upgraded parts and accessories unique to the bike.

Ducati proudly introduced the latest addition to its Multistrada family: the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour. This highly anticipated release promises to cater to the demands and desires of avid touring riders, offering a wealth of standard features tailored to their needs.

  • the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is the second motorcycle to feature at this year’s Ducati World Premiere.
  • powering the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is the Grandturismo V4 engine that pumps 170hp and 125Nm.

At the core of the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour lies the robust 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, delivering a claimed 170hp and 125Nm of torque.

Notably, this powertrain has been engineered with an emphasis on the convenience of long-distance touring, boasting extended maintenance intervals. Ducati recommends oil changes for this engine every two years or after covering 15,000 kilometers with valve clearance checks suggested at the 60,000-kilometer mark.

This touring marvel comes equipped with four distinct ride modes: Sport, Touring, Enduro, and Urban. Sport and Touring modes provide access to the full spectrum of the V4 GT’s power, while Enduro and Urban modes adjust the output to a more manageable 112.6hp to suit varying riding conditions.

Setting a new standard for functionality and touring comfort, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour arrives from the factory with Travel and Radar packages pre-installed.

Notably, this motorcycle features Ducati’s adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring as standard, along with the Skyhook semi-active suspension system. Additionally, the Minimum Preload and Easy Lift functions are included to enhance the overall riding experience.

In a bid to enhance practicality further, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour incorporates a range of standard features, including an adjustable windscreen, handguards, auxiliary LED lighting, a tire pressure monitoring system, heated handgrips, and heated saddles for both the rider and passenger.

Furthermore, convenience is heightened with a hands-free opening gas cap, a center stand, and matching side cases, ensuring riders have ample space to stow their gear for extended journeys. The inclusion of a center stand is particularly noteworthy, simplifying routine maintenance tasks that riders may encounter during lengthy excursions, such as chain maintenance.

Ducati has not forgotten shorter riders, as they have made provisions for a factory low suspension kit, which can be optionally added to the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour at an additional cost.

If the Ducati DesertX already turned heads with its distinctive design, the Rally version is set to elevate the off-road experience with a host of notable enhancements. Its unique appearance, reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefante, features a towering stance and muscular side panels. However, it seems that the stock DesertX may not be as bash-friendly as some riders would prefer, and this is precisely where the Rally steps in to address these concerns.

One of the standout improvements is the elongated, motocross-style front fender that graces the new model. This significant addition is complemented by robust fork protectors, extending upward to shield the upper tubes and embrace the stanchions, reducing the likelihood of oil seal damage – a welcome sight for off-road adventurers.

Another alteration to note is the revamped windshield, which, though maintaining its characteristic polka-dot pattern, appears taller compared to the standard DesertX. For those who dare to venture further off the beaten path, a new engine bash plate takes center stage. Reinforced with the trellis chassis and featuring a forged carbon construction, it ensures durability while adding a touch of rugged sophistication.

Ducatisti will also appreciate the inclusion of the Rally saddle from the accessory catalog. This dual-tone (red-black) flat, single-piece seat replaces the stock split setup, providing greater ease of movement when navigating through dirt and challenging landscapes. While the seat height may see a slight increase, the overall riding experience and triangle should remain largely unchanged.

When it comes to the bike’s rear, it bears a familiar look, with the fender and lights closely resembling those found on the existing DesertX. However, keen-eyed observers will spot the addition of side racks as the only noteworthy update.

To top it all off, the Ducati DesertX Rally flaunts a striking special livery that is sure to turn heads. The keen observer will notice a hidden red hue beneath the surface of the covered plastics, while the subframe and pillion grab rail proudly sport a vibrant red finish. In contrast, the tank and rear fender appear to embrace a sleek white shade, resulting in a captivating dual-tone livery that showcases Ducati’s signature red in all its glory.

As the automotive world continues to evolve, manufacturers are constantly seeking ways to meet the diverse needs of riders. In a recent move that has sparked intrigue among enthusiasts, Ducati has submitted an Executive Order to the California Air Resources Board (CARB), hinting at a potential expansion of its SuperSport 950 range.

  • While CARB’s regulations primarily pertain to emissions standards for vehicles sold within California, their influence often extends nationwide.
  • Traditionally, models released for the US market tend to find their way into the global market as well, making this development of significant interest to motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide.

Although details are limited, the CARB documentation sheds light on Ducati’s intentions for the 2024 SuperSport family.

A closer look at Ducati’s current lineup reveals a diverse array of models catering to different segments of riders. From sport-oriented Panigale machines to adventure-ready Multistradas and the retro charm of the Scrambler series, Ducati has managed to offer options for a wide range of preferences.

However, one notable gap in their lineup has been the absence of a robust Touring or Sport Touring option. This omission hasn’t gone unnoticed by motorcycle enthusiasts who often seek to adapt their bikes for touring purposes, even if the design wasn’t explicitly intended for it. The CARB filings for the 2024 SuperSport family hint at a possible solution to this gap. The new model designations, “Ducati SuperSport S T” and “Ducati SuperSport T,” suggest that Ducati might be gearing up to address the touring segment.

While the official details remain under wraps, these designations could be indicative of a “Touring” or “Turismo” variant. This potential addition aligns with Ducati’s commitment to innovation and its eagerness to cater to a broader spectrum of riders. The term “Turismo” offers a more mellifluous alternative to the straightforward “Touring,” and its adoption could lend a touch of Italian flair to the new model.

As of August 21, 2023, the anticipation is building for Ducati’s 2024 World Première calendar, set to kick off in September. Unlike the previous year, where each premier event came with its own teaser, this time around, Ducati has opted for a more mysterious approach. This absence of direct cues leaves room for speculation about how the CARB information might correlate with the upcoming announcements.

In a stunning display of skill and dominance, Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo Team secured yet another victory at the Austrian GP, held at the iconic Red Bull Ring.

  • Bagnaia’s recorded his fifth win of the season in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship and solidifies his position as a leading contender for the championship title.
  • The Italian now leads the championship with 62 points ahead of Jorge Martin.

Bagnaia’s masterclass performance was a continuation of his previous day’s success, where he claimed victory in the Sprint race. Starting from pole position, the Italian rider wasted no time in asserting his control over the race, leading from start to finish across the 28-lap battle. Bagnaia’s consistent and impressive lap times, consistently lapping in the low 1’30s range, allowed him to gradually distance himself from his closest competitor, Brad Binder of KTM, ultimately securing a five-second lead at the checkered flag.

With this win, Bagnaia not only extended his points lead to 62 over Martin from Pramac Racing but also celebrated his 16th MotoGP victory. Ducati also rejoiced as this victory marked their 78th overall win in the premier class. Bagnaia’s flawless performance also earned him the prestigious title of achieving a ‘Grand Slam’ victory, having secured pole position, the win, the fastest lap, and leading every lap, which he had previously achieved at Algarve in ’21, Jerez in ’22, and Mugello in ’23.

The Austrian GP was a testament to Ducati’s prowess, with four of their riders placing in the top 5. VR46 Racing’s Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini claimed third and fourth positions respectively, followed by Gresini Racing’s Alex Marquez in fifth.

Teammate Enea Bastianini, who started from 13th on the grid, showcased his determination as he battled with five other riders for a sixth-place finish. Despite facing challenges, Bastianini secured a commendable top-ten finish, closing in at 10th place.

Reflecting on his victory, Bagnaia shared his thoughts, “Sincerely, I’m very happy. We managed to do an incredible job all weekend, the engineers and my team gave me everything I asked for, and this was the result.” He also expressed his excitement for the upcoming challenges in the season and his dedication to maintaining this momentum.

As the championship continues, Bagnaia’s performance has set the stage for an exhilarating second half of the season. With his consistent victories and commanding lead, the racing world eagerly awaits the battles that lie ahead in the MotoGP World Championship.
