Ducati World Premiere

In a much-anticipated reveal on October 3, 2023, Ducati introduced the world to the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally—a formidable off-road motorcycle designed to elevate the riding experience for enthusiasts.

Building upon the already impressive DesertX, the 2024 Rally edition brings a host of enhancements, notably in suspension and wheel technology, catering to the demands of serious enduro riders.

A Powerhouse Under the Hood

At the heart of the 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally is Ducati’s robust 937cc Testastretta 11-degree engine. This powerhouse boasts a claimed output of 110hp @ 9,250 rpm and 92Nm @ 6,500 rpm, ensuring an exhilarating off-road experience.

Suspension Enhancements

One of the standout features of the DesertX Rally is its upgraded suspension system. The front suspension now boasts a 48mm KYB closed-cartridge fork, complete with adjustable compression and rebound settings.

Meticulous engineering has been employed to minimize cavitation, utilizing a closed-cartridge design, while friction is reduced through Kashima coating on the fork tubes and a diamond-like coating (DLC) on the sliders.

At the rear, a KYB shock absorber with a 46mm piston offers adjustable compression at high and low speeds, as well as preload and rebound adjustability.

These improvements translate to impressive suspension travel—250mm up front and 240mm at the rear. The bike offers a substantial ground clearance of 280mm.

To further enhance control, an adjustable Öhlins steering damper has been integrated into the handlebar, working in harmony with the upgraded suspension system.

Wheels and Tires

The DesertX Rally sees a significant transformation in its wheel technology. Billet aluminum hubs anchor the robust carbon steel spokes, which radiate outward to lightweight Excel Takasago rims.

These wheels collectively shed 0.5 kilograms of unsprung weight compared to the stock DesertX wheels. The wheel setup comprises a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, all wrapped in high-performance Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber.

Additional Features

Ducati has not overlooked the finer details of the 2024 DesertX Rally. The bike now features a high front mudguard, equipped with a split brake line to accommodate relocation.

Machined fork clamps, adjustable brake and shift pedals, and a distinctive Iron Giant livery—exclusive to this model—add to its visual appeal. These enhancements complement the existing suite of features offered on the standard DesertX.

Extended Range with Auxiliary Fuel Tank

For riders seeking extended range, Ducati offers an optional auxiliary fuel tank that mounts at the rear of the bike.

This accessory provides an additional 8 liters of fuel-carrying capacity, resulting in an estimated 40 percent increase in range compared to the standard 21-liter tank.

The 2024 Ducati DesertX Rally is poised to redefine the off-road adventure experience with its formidable engine, advanced suspension, and wheel technology. Whether conquering rugged trails or embarking on long-distance journeys, this motorcycle promises an unparalleled riding experience for enthusiasts worldwide.

Ducati proudly introduced the latest addition to its Multistrada family: the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour. This highly anticipated release promises to cater to the demands and desires of avid touring riders, offering a wealth of standard features tailored to their needs.

  • the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is the second motorcycle to feature at this year’s Ducati World Premiere.
  • powering the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is the Grandturismo V4 engine that pumps 170hp and 125Nm.

At the core of the 2024 Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour lies the robust 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, delivering a claimed 170hp and 125Nm of torque.

Notably, this powertrain has been engineered with an emphasis on the convenience of long-distance touring, boasting extended maintenance intervals. Ducati recommends oil changes for this engine every two years or after covering 15,000 kilometers with valve clearance checks suggested at the 60,000-kilometer mark.

This touring marvel comes equipped with four distinct ride modes: Sport, Touring, Enduro, and Urban. Sport and Touring modes provide access to the full spectrum of the V4 GT’s power, while Enduro and Urban modes adjust the output to a more manageable 112.6hp to suit varying riding conditions.

Setting a new standard for functionality and touring comfort, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour arrives from the factory with Travel and Radar packages pre-installed.

Notably, this motorcycle features Ducati’s adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring as standard, along with the Skyhook semi-active suspension system. Additionally, the Minimum Preload and Easy Lift functions are included to enhance the overall riding experience.

In a bid to enhance practicality further, the 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour incorporates a range of standard features, including an adjustable windscreen, handguards, auxiliary LED lighting, a tire pressure monitoring system, heated handgrips, and heated saddles for both the rider and passenger.

Furthermore, convenience is heightened with a hands-free opening gas cap, a center stand, and matching side cases, ensuring riders have ample space to stow their gear for extended journeys. The inclusion of a center stand is particularly noteworthy, simplifying routine maintenance tasks that riders may encounter during lengthy excursions, such as chain maintenance.

Ducati has not forgotten shorter riders, as they have made provisions for a factory low suspension kit, which can be optionally added to the Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour at an additional cost.

If the Ducati DesertX already turned heads with its distinctive design, the Rally version is set to elevate the off-road experience with a host of notable enhancements. Its unique appearance, reminiscent of the Cagiva Elefante, features a towering stance and muscular side panels. However, it seems that the stock DesertX may not be as bash-friendly as some riders would prefer, and this is precisely where the Rally steps in to address these concerns.

One of the standout improvements is the elongated, motocross-style front fender that graces the new model. This significant addition is complemented by robust fork protectors, extending upward to shield the upper tubes and embrace the stanchions, reducing the likelihood of oil seal damage – a welcome sight for off-road adventurers.

Another alteration to note is the revamped windshield, which, though maintaining its characteristic polka-dot pattern, appears taller compared to the standard DesertX. For those who dare to venture further off the beaten path, a new engine bash plate takes center stage. Reinforced with the trellis chassis and featuring a forged carbon construction, it ensures durability while adding a touch of rugged sophistication.

Ducatisti will also appreciate the inclusion of the Rally saddle from the accessory catalog. This dual-tone (red-black) flat, single-piece seat replaces the stock split setup, providing greater ease of movement when navigating through dirt and challenging landscapes. While the seat height may see a slight increase, the overall riding experience and triangle should remain largely unchanged.

When it comes to the bike’s rear, it bears a familiar look, with the fender and lights closely resembling those found on the existing DesertX. However, keen-eyed observers will spot the addition of side racks as the only noteworthy update.

To top it all off, the Ducati DesertX Rally flaunts a striking special livery that is sure to turn heads. The keen observer will notice a hidden red hue beneath the surface of the covered plastics, while the subframe and pillion grab rail proudly sport a vibrant red finish. In contrast, the tank and rear fender appear to embrace a sleek white shade, resulting in a captivating dual-tone livery that showcases Ducati’s signature red in all its glory.

Ducati enthusiasts, rejoice! The long-awaited 2024 Ducati World Première calendar has been unveiled, promising an exciting lineup of new models.

  • Ducati to unveil six new models from July 27 until November 7, 2023.
  • New 2024 models to be unveiled in the coming months will go “from the desert to mountain roads, passing through cities and race tracks” according to Ducati.

Starting from July 27, 2023, until November 7, 2023, six thrilling premieres will be broadcast on the official Ducati YouTube channel, ensuring fans from all corners of the globe can witness the unveiling.

While Ducati remains tight-lipped about the specifics of each event, they have tantalized us with hints. The first episode will celebrate one of the manufacturer’s most iconic models, sparking speculation among fans. As the series concludes, the final event promises to honor one of the most representative bikes in Ducati’s storied history.

But the wait won’t be too long for the first revelation. On July 27, 2023, all eyes will be on Ducati as they kick off the World Première, providing a glimpse into the future of motorcycling. Stay tuned for further updates as we bring you all the latest news on the new Ducati models.

In the last five years, we have seen a significant shift from a premium motorcycle company to not only offering top-of-the-range bikes but also a more affordable model for the masses.

  • Ducati to continue positioning itself as the number one premium motorcycle brand.
  • No plans to introduced an “affordable” Ducati.

BMW – in partnership with TVS Motor Company – introduced the G 310 R and G 310 GS to make motorcycle ownership more affordable.

Triumph is set to follow suit with an upcoming scrambler-type motorcycle built in partnership with India’s Bajaj Auto, while MV Agusta is currently developing an adventure bike called the Lucky Explorer 5.5 that borrows the same parallel-twin engine from Benelli’s TRK502.

*Lucky Explorer 5.5

All of these are part of an initiative to expand each brand’s presence towards a bigger market.

However, Ducati has no interest in following in the same footstep, according to the firm’s Head of Design, Andrea Ferraresi, during a recent interview with MCN.

“Actually, no, because we want to move the brand up more. We are already a premium brand, and we are already on the top of the premium segment.

“We want to stay there and raise a bit.

“To do this, one of the most important things is to keep the entry price into the range at a certain level. We want to keep this price not lower than the Monster.”

“What to do with the young riders? We have the Scramblers, which have a more affordable price.

“But there is no entry Ferrari or entry Porsche, so you start with other brands and keep in mind Ducati and then as soon as you can, you buy a Ducati,” he said.

That said, don’t expect an entry-level Ducati anytime soon.

Episode 6 of the Ducati World Premiere 2023 takes us to the unveiling of the all-new 2023 Ducati Diavel V4.

Since there is a lot to write about Ducati’s latest take on its latest mega cruiser, here are five things you need to know about the all-new Ducati Diavel V4.

  1. Engine

The Diavel has moved from its V-Twin setup to Ducati’s latest V4 engine.

Ducati has been synonymous with the V-Twin for quite some time but due to performance limitations, the Italian firm decided to move to the new V4 configuration that began with the Panigale V4 before naturally trickle down to the Streetfighter and the Multistrada.

However, the one fitted on the new Diavel is the Granturismo V4 engine found in the Multistrada V4. As a result, it features longer service interval and offers a mid range grunt.

According to Ducati, the Diavel V4 makes 168hp and 126Nm, making it more powerful than the Diavel 1260S although the latter makes higher peak torque at 129Nm.

  1. Weight

Thanks to the new engine, it allows Ducati to ditched the steel trellis frame on the previous generation Diavel for a new lightweight aluminium monocoque chassis for the Diavel V4.

As a result, Ducati saved 5kg from the engine and 8kg from the bike’s overall weight. That said, Ducati shed 13kg from the previous model.

  1. Comfort

This is the part where things got interesting because while it may be a cruiser, the Diavel V4 seat height registered at  790mm which is tall for a cruiser yet is low for a sporty naked bike.

Nonetheless, the handlebar is now 20mm closer to the rider which helps to improved riders ergonomics and comfort.

On top of that, Ducati adds more rear travel to the rear suspension which now sits at 145mm, 15mm more than the 1260. Ducati claimed that the longer rear travel allows for more comfort not just for the rider but also for pillions.

  1. Tech

There’s 5-inch TFT instrument display which you can access four riding modes including Sport, Touring, Urban and (newly added) Wet mode.

Also added is an up and down quickshifter, wheelie control and launch control as well as cruise control.

  1. Styling

The Diavel range is known for its striking looks and the V4 continues the general vibe with a similar stance.

That said, the new engine creates a slightly different bodywork and maybe not quite as aesthetic as the previous 1260. You could also argue about the missing trellis frame.

However, the biggest talking point are at the back, starting with the quad exit exhaust which is probably to signify the V4 configuration.

Also, the Diavel V4 features a new honeycomb taillight which looks absolutely bonkers. However, we couldn’t help but imagine the struggle of cleaning the tail light once you are done riding.

So what do you think about the 2023 Ducati Diavel V4? Will it be as amazing as the 1260 or better? Do tell us what you think at the comment section!

Ducati bakal memperkembangkan lagi model V4 menerusi model ‘power cruiser’ Ducati Diavel.

Ducati has revealed its plans for the Ducati World Premiere 2021 in accordance with everything that’s going on around the world due to COVID-19. Come November, the new bikes will be revealed via a five-episode web series scattered out weekly from 4 November 2020 up to 2 December 2020. (more…)

  • The 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 and 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 S were also updated.

  • They were revealed at the Ducati World Premiere.

  • Outwardly, they look like the Panigale V4 R.

More on Ducati; this was why they chose to debut new bikes away from EICMA because there are so many all at once. Included in the Ducati World Premiere were the 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 and 2020 Ducati Panigale V4 S.

The updates were aimed at moving the two bikes a little closer to the WorldSBK homologation Panigale V4 R model, but of course, the R still has more race-ready components.

First and foremost, they gain the V4 R’s winglets and fairing, complete with gills. The fairing is also wider along with a taller windscreen to provide the rider with more wind protection. Those winglets really work, and provide 30 kg of downforce at 270 km/h — the same figures as the R’s. The downforce they provide allows the rider to open the throttle earlier and keep on the gas while accelerating as wheelies are kept in check without having the anti-wheelie electronics cutting in. Ducati claims they obtained a 2.43m advantage over the 2019 model from the last corner to the finish line at Jerez.

The front of the frame was also made less stiff to provide more feedback. Better feedback equals better confidence. Additionally, the centre of gravity was moved 5 mm higher for better turning leverage.

Lastly, the already excellent traction control strategy was upgraded to DTC EVO 2, as per the new Streetfighter V4 and Panigale V2.

Ducati also released the prices. The Panigale V4 costs € 23,490 and the Panigale V4 S costs € 28,790. That marks a € 500 increase for both bikes.

  • The 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 teaser video is now on Twitter.

  • It shows the headlamp’s profile while flashing through features and specs.

  • The bike will have 208 hp and weighs only 178 kg.

The Italian manufacturer has uploaded a 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 teaser video on Twitter.

The video shows the bike’s headlamp profile and flashes through the features and some specifications.

First of all, the V-four engine will be known as the Desmosedici Stradale, just like the Panigale V4’s. “Desmosedici” means “desmodromic V-four” while “Stradale” means road, all in Italian.

Next, the video says “biplane wings.” These are the winglets similar to the Panigale V4 R’s.

It also says “Panigle V4 electronic suite.” It means the Streetfighter V4 will have IMU-based lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control. Additionally, it should also have wheelie control, rear tyre slide control, engine braking levels, rear wheel lift mitigation, among others. There is no mention of whether there will be an “S” model complete with electronically controlled suspension, however.

Now for the interesting bits.

Ducati claims the weight at 178 kg. This is presumably the dry weight, since the Panigale V4 S weights 195 kg, ready to ride. Still that is really light!

Moving on, the next test is “high handlebar.” This is given, since the bike takes on a naked form.

And here it is, the most awaited spec: “208 hp at 12,750.” That is 18 hp over the expected 190. The current king of supernakeds – KTM 1290 Super Duke R – boasts 187 hp. The prospect of riding a naked bike which has more than 200 hp sounds oddly enticing and scary at the same time.

The video ends with the message “See you at Ducati World Premiere on October 23, 11.30 am CEST.” That’s Central European Summer Time which converts to 5.30 pm.

See you, most definitely!
