The latest episode of Ducati World Premier 2022 witnessed the unveiling of the new Streetfighter V2.

The idea behind the new V2 is simple, take the Ducati Panigale V2, strip the fairing and boom! The Streetfighter V2 is born.

This also means that the Streetfighter V2 is powered by the same desmodromic Superquadro 955cc engine that makes 150hp and 102Nm.

However, the Streetfighter V2 is in a more approachable form for street riding compared to the Panigale V2.

It also features a longer single-sided swingarm, fully adjustable Showa Big Piston front forks, Sachs rear shocks (also adjustable) and Sachs steering damper.

Meanwhile, braking is done by the same Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial callipers with 320mm disc available on the Panigale V2.

Despite entering the market as a subtle version of the Streetfighter V4, the V2 still carries the entire Ducati electronic package which includes:

  • ABS Cornering EVO with ‘slide by brake’ function
  • Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2
  • Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVP
  • Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) EVO 2
  • Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO
  • three riding modes (Sport, Road, Wet)

Other exciting features include:

  • full LED headlights with DRL
  • 4.3″ TFT display
  • Ducati Quickshifter
  • 3-riding modes with 3-engine mapping

Despite not getting the iconic biplane wings as standard unlike its bigger siblings, owners can still get it as an added accessory that is designed to guarantee an additional downforce of 28kg at 265km/h.

We are nearing that time of the year whereby every manufacturer is making a great effort to introduce their new range of motorcycles.

As the biggest motorcycle exhibition globally, EICMA has been the number one choice for every big player to unveil their latest creation.

However, on the other hand, Ducati continues to put their trust in the online platform for the second time around.

Following the success of Ducati World Premier 2021 that witness the global unveiling of the Multistrada V4, new Monster and the SuperSport 950, the Borgo Panigale outfit is proud to present the Ducati World Premier (DWP) 2022.

There will be six episodes of the web series in total comprising of:

  • Episode 1 | Your everyday wonder (September 30, 2021)
  • Episode 2 | Mark your roots (October 14, 2021)
  • Episode 3 | Rule all mountains (October 28, 2021)
  • Episode 4 | A new Fighter in town (November 11, 2021)
  • Episode 5 | The evolution of Speed (November 25, 2021)
  • Episode 6 | Dream Wilder – DesertX (December 9, 2021)

Ducati is even kind enough to reveal that the sixth and final episode will be the unveiling of the all-new DesertX in a production form. The DesertX was first introduced as a concept back in EICMA 2019.

However, episodes three and four of the DWP 2022 caught our attention due to the not so subtle headline.

Using our intricate analysis, the ‘Rule all mountain’ and ‘A new Fighter in town’ could be referring to the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak edition and the recently spied Streetfighter V2.

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak could be the last model that pays homage to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb as the organizers have decided to cancel all two-wheel events due to the tragic passing of Carlin Dunne in June 2019.

Meanwhile, the Streetfighter V2 will attract a larger audience as it is expected to feature a lower price point than its V4 siblings.

Moreover, with 155hp @ 10,750rpm and 104Nm @ 9,000rpm, the V2 could well be one of the most powerful middleweight naked bikes available in the market next year.

But then again, we could be wrong, and it could well be referring to a whole different bike by the time the episode goes live.

Nonetheless, please mark your calendar as Ducati is set to introduce their 2022 model year range.

We had the pleasure to take the Ducati Streetfighter V4 out for a few days, which you can check out for the full review below.

The so-called hyper-naked machine is one of a kind motorcycle thanks to its Panigale V4-derived powerplant that churns out more than 200hp.

However, all those power comes with a hefty price tag of RM115,900 for the base model, while the range-topping V4 S will set you back at RM145,900.

For those who want the Streetfighter V4 but are unwilling to spend that much, worry not, as we might be getting some good news from the folks at Bologna.

The latest development suggests that there could be a V2 version of the Streetfighter.

Moreover, alleged photos show what could be the Ducati Streetfighter V2 currently undergoing testing in Italy along with the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak.

Nonetheless, if the rumours and the spy shot is somewhat true, the basic is easy to guess; strip away the fairing from the Panigale V2 and boom! You get the Streetfighter V2.

The current Panigale V2 makes around 153hp and 104Nm from its twin-cylinder 955cc Superquadro, which is still plenty for a naked version V2.

Considering the fully-faired Ducati Panigale V2 is currently available at RM109,900, the Streetfighter V2 could have a lower price point. All we have to do now is to wait until November, as the Borgo-Panigale factory might reveal the new Streetfighter at the 2021 EICMA in Milan.

The 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4 was just revealed earlier this year and no one in the industry doubts its power and beauty. However, 208hp from its 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine might just be too powerful for some. Ducati’s solution? A smaller-capacity and more manageable Ducati Streetfighter V2 for the everyday masses. (more…)

Streetfighter V4

Selepas Ducati mencuri perhatian dunia dengan memperkenalkan Streetfighter V4, pengeluar motosikal Itali itu dikhabarkan bakal menghasilkan versi V2.

Panigale V4S
