In a significant move towards promoting eco-friendly motorsports, Honda Racing Corporation is set to introduce the Honda CR Electric prototype in a formal competition for the first time.

Unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, the CR Electric prototype garnered attention as an electric dirt bike innovation, shrouded in secrecy regarding its powertrain details.

Fast forward to 2023, Honda has chosen the Saitama Toyopet Cup, part of the D.I.D. All Japan Motocross Championship, as the platform for the CR Electric’s debut. This marks Honda’s inaugural foray into formal competition with an in-house developed electric motorcycle—a milestone moment for the industry as manufacturers strive to reduce carbon footprints.

Trey Canard, a former 2010 AMA Pro Motocross 250 champion and current team advisor at American Honda, will be piloting the CR Electric prototype as a wildcard entry.

Despite four years passing since its unveiling, Honda has maintained secrecy around the bike’s specifications, emphasizing its prototype status. Enthusiasts eagerly await official powertrain details, which may emerge if Honda progresses the CR Electric to production.

The Caofen F80 bikes are equipped with patented battery technology, a single-piece frame, and an enhanced motor. They are designed to improve performance and longevity, enabling riders to enjoy their ride, go faster, and cover more distance on a single charge.

The Caofen F80 bikes have been developed to compete with other electric motorbikes already available in the UK market. The launch of these bikes is expected to bring more competition to the market and increase the availability of affordable electric motorbikes.

The company has launched its newly designed website where interested buyers can find more information about the specifications of the F80 Adventure and F80 Off-Road. The website also provides information about other upcoming models from Caofen.

The launch of the Caofen F80 bikes is a significant development in the electric motorbike market in the UK. The Caofen F80 bikes offer an affordable option for those looking to transition to electric motorbikes.

We are in awe with Flux Motorcycles latest creation, the Primo electric dirt bike that’s not only boast an insane 750Nm of torque but also a list of premium components.

  • The Primo delivers a whopping 750Nm and 85 peak horsepower.
  • The electric dirt bike also features a newly built frame by HM Moto.

The Flux Primo, is setting a new standard for speed and power. Boasting top-of-the-line features such as KYB and Öhlins suspension, the Primo is already making waves in the industry.

But the real standout feature of this incredible machine is its electric motor. Delivering a heart-stopping 85bhp, the Primo is already more powerful than most 450cc internal combustion engine motorcycles. And with 553lb-ft of torque available from zero revs, it has more grunt than a Tesla Model 3.

Not only is the motor water-cooled, but each battery cell also has its own cooling circuit to help reduce voltage drop-off while riding hard. And with an energy recovery system to recoup energy from slowing down, the Primo can go the distance on longer rides.

But that’s not all – the Primo also features a ‘virtual clutch’ system, which is sure to revolutionize the way we ride. Although details are scarce, we imagine it works similarly to the early Electric Motion trials bikes.

With top-spec features such as KYB 48mm fully adjustable forks, an Öhlins TTX full adjustable rear shock, and a frame created by HM Moto, we’re pretty adamant that the Primo will quickly capture people’s attention.

Bimota has finally stepped out of its comfort zone of fine street bikes by introducing the BX450 enduro motorcycle.

  • Bimota continue its closed partnership with Kawasaki with the introduction of BX450.
  • Based on the Kawasaki KX450 dirt bike.

The BX450 is the firm’s genuine competition motorcycle, ready to take on major enduro events across the globe.

For the record, the BX450 is built based on Kawasaki’s iconic KX450. It features the same aluminium twin-spar frame with a classic lower double cradle that houses a powerful 449cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve single with 12.5:1 compression.

However, Bimota’s technical team also adds an electric start, an advanced ECU with specific mapping and a traction control system.

In addition, the Bimota BX450 also features an Arrow exhaust system as standard.

Nonetheless, some parts from the Kawasaki KX450 are retained on the BX450, including a fully-adjustable 49mm Showa male-slider fork and Kawasaki’s Uni-Trak monoshock linked to the swingarm.

Braking is done via a Nissin 4-piston brake callipers mated to a single-disc at the front and rear.

Meanwhile, the spoked wheels are fitted with Metzeler 6 Days M+S tires with 90/100-21 front and 140/80-18 rear.

More importantly, Bimota shed its weight to just 110kg, making it a lightweight bike ready to take on the dirt road.

Unfortunately, like all Bimotas, the BX450 will be limited to just a few hundred units.

Japanese motorcycle powerhouse Honda is set to expand the CRF250 dirt bike model range very soon following reports of its intent at putting the Honda CRF250 Rally concept bike into production.

The news comes following patent and trademark files leaked online. No targeted release date was disclosed, but we are led to believe we will see one as soon as EICMA 2015 later this month.

Essentially, the Honda CRF 250 Rally concept underpins the red wing marque’s CRF 250 dirt bike, with the concept donning a new dressing akin to HRC’s Dakar Rally enduro. Minus the enduro-styled aesthetic enhancements, the concept still retains much of the production bike’s mechanicals.

The leaked design patents revealed that the production-bound version gains several predictable changes such as the adoption of a street-legal exhaust silencer and tail light set.

A 21-inch front wheel and 18 inch rear wheel replace the 17 inch items on the 701 Supermoto, with Continental TKC80s providing the grip off road.
