Looks like Yamaha will have a tough time during this weekend’s MotoGP round in Le Mans, France as six of its engineers have tested positive for COVID-19. This includes the Yamaha YZR-M1 Project Leader, Takahiro Sumi. All six engineers have no choice but to miss this weekend’s race as they have to undergo self-isolation in Andorra. (more…)

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) mengumumkan penutupan sementera Pusat Servis Yamaha dan Lifestyle Station di Sungai Buloh.

Keputusan itu dibuat susulan salah seorang daripada pelatih Motorcycle Education & Training Academy (META) di HLYM didapati positif Covid-19 pada 1 Oktober lalu.

Menurut HLYM dalam satu kenyataan, pelatih itu tidak hadirkan diri di META sejak 1 Oktober lalu dan menjalani kuarantin kendiri sebelum menerima rawatan.

Sementara itu, mereka yang mempunyai kontak dengan pelatih tersebut telah pun memulakan kuarantin kendiri selama 14 hari sejak 2 Oktober lalu dengan kesemuanya perlu menjalani pemeriksaan lanjut seperti ditetapkan Kementerian Kesihatan.

HLYM turut memaklumkan proses sanitasi telah disinfeksi telah pun dilaksanakan di META pada 2 Oktober lalu.

Meskipun pejabat urusan masih beroperasi seperti biasa mengikut prosedur operasi standard (SOP) ditetapkan namun pihak HLYM tidak akan menerima sebarang kunjungan sehingga diberitahu.

Thailand dijangkakan akan terus menutup sempadan negara itu daripada kunjungan pelancong sehingga 2021.

Perkara itu didedahkan sendiri Timbalan Gabenor Badan Pelancongan Thailand (TAT), Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya.

Menurutnya, kerajaan negara itu belum mengadakan sebarang perbincangan mengenai pembukaan semula sempadan negara (keluar dan masuk) ketika mesyuarat mingguan Covid-19.

“Tiada tanda-tanda daripada kerajaan bahawa kami akan membuka sempadan tahun ini. Senario ini memberi kesan terhadap industri pelancongan,” jelasnya.

Bulan lalu, Thailand bercadang untuk memperkenalkan ‘travel bubbles’ – beri fokus pada sesetengah pelancong sahaja – namun perancangan itu tidak dilaksanakan susulan negara yang menjadi sasaran terjejas teruk dengan Covid-19.

Sementara itu, Thailand yang dilihat menjadi destinasi pelancong di Malaysia terutamanya penunggang motosikal yang sering ke negara itu perlu membatalkan sebarang perancangan dalam masa terdekat.

Setakat ini kebenaran memasuki sempadan Thailand hanya diberikan kepada diplomat dan pegawai petugas Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (UN), ahli perniagaan, pelabur berdaftar, kru filem, pekerja asing, petugas pameran dan pemegang visa Thailand Elite.

The current conditions revolving around the COVID-19 pandemic are being handled as we speak but due to its highly infectious nature, all major events that usually pull in crowds by the thousands have to be either postponed or cancelled. Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin menerusi perutusan khas mengumumkan bahawa Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Bersyarat (PKPB) berakhir 10 Jun ini dan akan digantikan dengan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP).

PKPP akan berkuatkuasa sehingga 31 Ogos.

Menerusi PKPP, orang ramai yang diberikan lebih kelonggaran bagi menjalani kehidupan seharian namun masih perlu mematuhi Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP) yang telah ditetapkan.

Pada masa sama, Perdana Menteri turut membenarkan perjalanan rentas negeri kecuali di kawasan yang berada dalam Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Diperketatkan (PKPD).

“Mereka yang ingin menziarahi ibu bapa bolehlah berbuat demikian,” katanya.

Bagaimanapun, Muhyiddin turut mengingatkan agar orang ramai menjaga kebersihan diri dan mengikut SOP ditetapkan.

“Ingat, ibu bapa adalah warga meas, mereka antara mudah terdedah kepada jangkitan (Covid-19),” jelasnya.
