Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are capitalizing on the growing popularity of cruisers, and the trend continues with the introduction of a new cruiser model by Benda. 

This latest addition, named the Napoleon, exemplifies Benda’s penchant for bold and unique designs. With its neo-retro styling, including a round headlight and sleek bodywork, the Napoleon stands out in the crowd.

One of the most striking features of the Benda Napoleon is its massive dual-purpose tires, which provide a visual contrast to the bike’s low-slung and streamlined appearance. The cruiser also boasts fork covers that create the illusion of a cantilever front end, although it actually incorporates telescopic forks. The cockpit of the Napoleon features low-slung drag bars and forward-set foot controls, ensuring a riding position that mimics the characteristic hunch of a bobber.

Powering the Benda Napoleon is a 488cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected V-Twin engine, which generates a respectable 50 horsepower. Weighing in at 190 kilograms, it competes in terms of performance with models like the Rebel 500. It should be noted, however, that Benda has not clarified whether this weight refers to the dry or wet weight of the bike.

While the Benda Napoleon is slated to debut in the Chinese market by the end of June 2023, its global availability remains uncertain.  Enthusiasts eagerly await further details, including the pricing of the Benda Napoleon. Its release is eagerly anticipated, with hopes that it will soon become available on a global scale, satisfying the growing demand for unique and stylish cruisers

Ini bukan kali pertama laporan tentang Zontes sedang membangunkan enjin tiga silinder 800cc diterbitkan. Ini kerana hampir tiga tahun Zontes telah mencanangkan projek tersebut.

Bulan lalu juga timbul rakaman video yang memaparkan sebuah motosikal jenis adventure sedang menjalani ujian dan bunyi dihasilkan jelas merujuk kepada enjin tiga silinder. 

Namun, perkembangan terbaru mendapati Zontes bercadang untuk menggunakan platform terbaru itu bagi membangunkan tiga model berlainan yang merangkumi sebuah sportbike, naked dan adventure. 

Apa yang menarik, Motorrad Online berjaya mendapatkan gambar enjin tiga silinder daripada Zontes dan membandingkan dengan enjin tiga silinder CP3 milik Yamaha. Berdasarkan pemantauan, kedua-duanya tampak sama sekaligus memberi bayangan enjin Zontes itu mengambil ‘inspirasi’ daripada CP3 Yamaha.

Teknik ‘reverse engineering’ ini bukanlah perkara baru kerana satu lagi pengeluar China, Loncin, turut melakukan perkara sama dengan enjin Honda CB500X. 

Walaupun tiada maklumat terperinci ketika ini namun kami menjangkakan ketiga-tiga model Zontes tersebut akan tampil dengan reka bentuk moden dan futuristik seperti model sedia ada. 

Imej render yang dikongsikan sebelum ini juga memberi bayangan kasar akan reka bentuk yang akan dihasilkan. 

Apa yang pasti, pengeluar motosikal China sudah mula mengorak langkah dalam penghasilan jentera berkuasa tinggi. Jenama lain seperti CFMoto dan QJ Motor juga telah memulakan langkah lebih awal dengan masing-masing turut mendapat kepercayaan daripada jenama Barat  seperti KTM dan Harley-Davidson. 

Jadi tidak hairanlah Zontes bakal menjadi pengeluar China seterusnya yang akan turut memperkenalkan barisan motosikal berkuasa tinggi tidak lama lagi. Kami juga tidak terkejut jika beberapa model ini akan membuat penampilan di EICMA, November ini. 

Perkabaran tentang pembangunan enjin baharu oleh QJ Motor telah pun tular sejak April lalu apabila pengeluar motosikal China itu disahkan sedang menghasilkan enjin dengan konfigurasi V4. 

Bagaimanapun, ketika itu belum ada sebarang pengesahan mengenai jenis motosikal yang akan dikuasakan enjin tersebut di samping sesaran enjin yang akan ditawarkan.  Namun, persoalan tersebut akhirnya terjawab apabila QJ Motor telah pun mendedahkan model dengan enjin V4 itu baru-baru ini di China. 

Berdasarkan gambar yang diperolehi, motosikal tersebut adalah jenis ‘cruiser’ yang akan digerakkan platform 600cc dengan konfigurasi V4. 

Menariknya, ‘cruiser’ tersebut tampak mendapat inspirasi daripada Harley-Davidson Sportster S terbaru namun dengan beberapa perbezaan ketara antaranya reka bentuk tangki, subframe, jarak ‘handelbar’ dengan penunggang dan lampu depan. 

Persamaan tersebut bukanlah satu kejutan apatah lagi QJ Motor dan Harley-Davidson telah pun menjalinkan kerjasama bagi penghasilan model X350 dan X500 baru-baru ini. 

Namun begitu, tumpuan terus terarah kepada keputusan QJ Motor untuk menawarkan platform V4 pada sebuah motosikal ‘cruiser’ yang rata-rata dikuasakan enjin V-Twin dan parallel-twin oleh pengeluar lain. 

Apa pun, kami menjangkakan enjin tersebut akan menawarkan sekitar 70hp. 

Dalam pada itu, kami juga menjangkan Flash 600 V4 bukanlah satu-satunya model V4 yang akan diperkenalkan QJ Motor untuk pasaran global kerana platform tersebut pastinya akan turut disuntik pada model berprestasi tinggi seperti sebuah motosikal naked dan sportbike. 

Persoalannya, bilakah QJ Motor Flash 600 V4 ini akan diperkenalkan secara rasmi? Pendapat kami, model ini akan dilancarkan sekitar hujung tahun ini. 

Caofen, a new emerging electric brand, has announced its entry into the UK market with the launch of two electric motorbikes – the F80 Adventure and F80 Off-Road.

  • The road-ready F80 Adventure will retail at GBP5,995 (RM33k), while the F80 Off-Road will cost GBP5,495 (RM30.3k).
  • Caofen is a newly developed electric motorcycle company from China owned by Chongqing Huanghe Motorcycle Company. 

The Caofen F80 bikes are equipped with patented battery technology, a single-piece frame, and an enhanced motor. They are designed to improve performance and longevity, enabling riders to enjoy their ride, go faster, and cover more distance on a single charge.

The Caofen F80 bikes have been developed to compete with other electric motorbikes already available in the UK market. The launch of these bikes is expected to bring more competition to the market and increase the availability of affordable electric motorbikes.

The company has launched its newly designed website where interested buyers can find more information about the specifications of the F80 Adventure and F80 Off-Road. The website also provides information about other upcoming models from Caofen.

Bagi pasaran Malaysia, jenama Lifan mungkin lebih terkenal sebagai pembekal enjin motosikal namun syarikat berpangkalan di China itu juga mempunyai barisan model motosikal tersendiri. 

Untuk rekod, jenama Lifan juga memasuki Malaysia menerusi MForce Bike Holdings yang memasarkan Lifan KPV150 (yang dijenamakan semula sebagai WMoto Xtreme 150i). 

Terbaru, Lifan telah melancarkan motosikal jenis ‘cruiser’ yang dikenali sebagai LF600 di China. 

Menurut maklumat yang diperolehi, Lifan LF600 ini dikuasakan enjin V-Twin 573cc dengan penyejukan air dan suntikan bahan api yang berupaya menjana 58hp dan 55Nm. Meskipun agak berat dengan 233 kilogram namun Lifan mendakwa enjin tersebut mempunyai kuasa yang cukup untuk memacu LF600 mencapai kelajuan maksima sekitar 165km/j. 

Dalam pada itu, LF600 ini juga dilengkapi dengan ciri moden antaranya kaliper brek J.Juan yang dipadankan bersama sistem ABS dwi-saluran. Model ini juga didatangkan dengan fork depan jenis USD boleh laras dengan monoshock di belakang. 

Ciri lain ditawarkan termasuk rim 19-inci depan dan 16-inci belakang, pencahayaan LED penuh dan panel meter digital. 

Selepas memperkenalkan Harley-Davidson X300 bulan lalu, Harley-Davidson dengan kerjasama QJ Motor telah melancarkan Harley-Davidson X500 di pasaran China dengan harga jualan CNY44,388 (RM28.5k). 

Menurut Harley-Davidson, X500 itu datang dengan tiga pilihan warna; Vibrant Orange, Bright Silver dan Dazzling Black.

Kerjasama dengan QJ Motor menyaksikan Harley-Davidson X500 dikuasakan enjin sama yang terdapat pada Benelli Leoncino 500, dengan enjin parallel-twin 500cc itu menawarkan 47hp dan 46Nm. Kuasa enjin pula disalurkan kepada tayar belakang menerusi transmisi manual 6-kelajuan. 

Selain daripada enjin, Harley-Davidson X500 juga berkongsi kerangka yang sama dengan Leoncino 500. 

Antara ciri lain ditawarkan termasuk tangki 13L, lampu LED penuh depan dan belakang, panel meter digital, fork USD dan ABS dwi-saluran.

Harley-Davidson X500 merupakan model kedua hasil kerjasama antara jenama motosikal Amerika Syarikat itu bersama QJ Motor. Mengambil kira kedua-dua model ini dibina berlandaskan model di bawah jenama QJ Motor, pastinya bakal ada juga model akan datang yang berkongsi platform dengan model lain.

Persoalannya, adakah model mampu milik ini akan turut menembusi pasaran Malaysia?

Italian motorcycle brand Benelli has unveiled its latest offering, the Tornado 402, which is set to be manufactured in China by its parent company, Qianjiang. While some development and design work is still done in Italy, the majority of the bikes are now produced in China. 

  • The Tornado 402 features an all-new 400cc twin-cylinder engine. 
  • The sports bike is equipped with front camera and single-sided swingarm. 

The Tornado moniker has traditionally been linked with sporty models at Benelli, and the new Tornado 402 is no exception. This fully faired sportbike boasts a 400cc engine that is likely to appeal to riders in countries where 400cc motorbikes are considered premium options or where licensing restrictions limit larger engines.

Although it would have made sense for Benelli to adopt an existing 400cc twin engine from Qianjiang or QJ Motor, the Tornado 402 instead comes with a freshly built engine that produces 48 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, making it the most powerful 400 series QJ twin engine currently available. 

The bike’s chassis features an aluminum single-sided swingarm and a tubular steel frame with a non-adjustable upside-down telescopic fork at the front and an adjustable shock absorber at the back, both supplied by Marzocchi. Nissin provides the braking system, which includes two 300-millimeter discs at the front and a 250-millimeter disc at the rear, along with ABS as standard.

One notable technological feature of the Tornado 402 is a built-in dash cam, which records traffic conditions and is built into the windshield assembly. The footage can be recorded to a smartphone using an app and is saved automatically. This function is not only useful for documenting enjoyable rides but also for safety and security while riding on the road.

Kebelakangan ini pengeluar motosikal dunia gemar menghasilkan motosikal bersesaran 660cc antaranya Aprilia dengan RS 660, Tuono 660 dan Tuareg 660 sebelum diekori Triumph dengan Trident 660 dan Tiger Spprt 660. 

Dalam perkembangan terbaru, sebuah lagi pengeluar motosikal, kali ini dari China bakal mengikut jejak sama. Berdasarkan laporan terkini, Voge dikhabarkan sedang membangunkan sebuah jentera ‘sportsbike’ 4-inline 660cc. 

Maklumat tersebut timbul selepas mesyuarat pengedar Voge yang berlangsung di China baru-baru ini. Ketika program tersebut, gambar slaid yang disiarkan telah tular lantas mendedahkan info menarik tentang motosikal tersebut. 

Pertamanya, ketika Aprilia memilih platform parallel-twin dan Triumph dengan tiga silinder, Voge pula memilih jalan tradisional dengan konfigurasi 4-inline. 

Meskipun slaid tersebut tidak mendedahkan kuasa dan tork yang dihasilkan namun tertera jentera tersebut mampu mencapai kelajuan maksima 200km/j dan boleh melakukan 0-100km/j dalam tempoh 3.5 saat. 

Antara info lain yang berjaya dikorek termasuk kaliper brek 4-pot depan jenama Brembo dan tayar Pirello Diabo depan dan belakang. Pakej suspensi pula hadir menerusi jenama KYB. Menariknya, model akan datang itu juga dilengkapi dengan swingarm jenis ‘single-sided’. 

Antara kelengkapan lain ditawarkan termasuk ‘traction control’ dan ABS dwi-saluran, serta panel meter TFT. 

Berdasarkan info dikongsikan, jelas Voge cukup serius dalam pembangunan jentera ‘sportsbike’ tersebut. Apa pun, segalanya akan terjawab sebaik model ini diperkenalkan secara rasmi nanti. 

Chinese motorcycle maker, Zongshen has introduced the new RC 401 R in China. 

  • The RC 401 R is based on the standard RC 401 launched in 2022. 
  • The Zonghsen RC 401 R makes 45hp and 35.25Nm. 

Build based on the RC 401 presented in 2022, the RC 401 R is an up-spec version of the former and is differentiated by the addition of single-sided swingarm and an adjustable suspension from KYB, J.Juan dual front disc brakes and ABS. 

Also, the RC 401 R is a lot sportier thanks to its lower clip ons and higher rear tail. 

Nevertheless, the RC 401 R continue to make the same 45hp @ 9,500rpm and 35.25Nm @ 8,000rpm similar to the standard RC 401 as both model shares the same parallel-twin with liquid-cooled SOHC mill. 

In terms of pricing, the Zongshen RC 401 R is priced at at CNY31,980 (RM20.6k) making it quite an affordable option in the 400cc segment. 

Something interesting just came across our news desk this week, and it is probably one of the best-looking retro-style motorcycles we’ve ever seen. 

  • Zeths is a motorcycle company based in China. 
  • The ZFR 500 R Avenger is the company’s maiden sports bike. 

Chinese motorcycle company, Zeths has just announced the ZFR 500 R Avenger, a retro-inspired machine that could take us back to the old days’ thanks to its exciting design.

The 500 R Avenger is not only a departure from the firm’s current range of bikes but also the brand’s maiden sports bike in the lineup. 

However, we have to give credit to Zeths for coming up with a motorcycle that is inspired by race bikes from the 70s instead of copying and pasting designs of existing models from other manufacturers.

Also, the ZFR 500 R Avenger looks good and features decent specs, including a parallel-twin 500cc engine, adjustable suspension, single-sided swingarm and even four-pot radial Brembo brakes and twin disc. 

The specs might be standard for a European or Japanese machine, but it is an interesting development for a bike coming from China. 

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen if the bike will ever make its way outside of China. 

Harley-Davidson held a huge event just last week to celebrate the firm’s 120th anniversary. 

  • The Chinese-build Harley-Davidson X350 is heading to the US.
  • The X350 is equipped with a parallel-twin 353cc engine similar to the Benelli 302s but with a bigger bore. 

The American motorcycle company took the opportunity to announced it’s 2023 lineup, including the Nightster Special and the Breakout. 

Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Chinese-build X350 and X350RA was not included in the announcement. 

However, latest report suggest that the X350 and X350RA, a product of Harley-Davidson’s partnership with China’s Qianjiang Motors is also heading to the US as confirmed by new VIN information. 

Interestingly, Motorcycle.com managed to obtained o copy of the X350 owner’s manual and an image of the motorcycle.

According to reports by Dennis Chung, the owner’s manual disclosed some of the bike’s information including the powertrain. That said, powering the Harley-Davidson X350 is a 353cc parallel-twin with  eight-valve liquid-cooled mill.

However, while the X350 makes 36hp the X350RA power output is restricted to just 26hp. 

The VIN information also confirms that the X350 is equipped with analog speedometer with small digital display, damping adjustable inverted front fork, ABS and dual-petal disc brakes.

Also, the X350 runs on 17-inch front and rear wheels shod with Pirelli’s Angel CT tires with 120/70-17 up front and 160/60-17 at the rear. However, the X350RA is equipped with slimmer wheels, 110/70-17 at the front and 150/60-17 at the rear. 

The X350 also claims a weight of 199.5kg and 12.8 litres of fuel tank.

Just a few months ago, CFMoto unveiled its NK-C22 concept motorcycle that was likely to make it to production anytime soon. 

  • CFMoto to introduced the 800NK roadster.
  • Features KTM 799cc LC8c parallel twin-cylinder engine. 

The naked-type roadster were believed to be powered by KTM’s 799cc parallel twin-cylinder engine. 

However, latest development has confirmed that a production model, resembling the NK-C22 concept already in the works with the finished product bearing the 800NK name emerged in a new type-approval documents filed in China. 

The documents not only showed one but two versions of the 800Nk are to be made.

Based on the single photo shared, the 800NK looks like a proper roadster with sharp bodyworks and exposed frame. 

Interestingly, the production model mirrors most of the NK-C22 features except a couple of key changes with the main alteration is the adoption of a conventional double-sided swingarm. 

Similar to other CFMoto machines, the 800NK is likely designed by Kiska Studios, the same company responsible for many KTM’s in recent years.

CFMoto also claimed that the KTM-powered 800NK makes 99hp from the 799cc LTM LC8c engine. The same mill also powered CFMoto’s 800MT adventure motorcycle. 

According to the documents, both iterations of the 800NK also shares the same key figures including engine and other components. They also have similar parts, including an USD front fork,  J.Juan radial-mount brake callipers and TFT instrument display. 

However, we expect the higher-spec 800NK to feature an additional electronic package, possibly similar to KTM’s 790 Duke range.

The all-new CFMoto 800NK is likely to hit the global market in 2023.
