BMW C 400 GT

The Honda X-ADV 750 has no other competitors, making it one of the unique adventure scooters ever built.

The Japanese marquee then went ahead and introduced the smaller ADV 150, which was then followed by Kymco’s DT X360 and Yamaha’s BWS 125.

While the market remains small but it is definitely growing.

However, just to spice things up, one of the renowned concept designers, Oberdan Bezzi, decided to create his interpretation of an adventure scooter by using the C 400 X as the platform to create what he referred to as the C 400 GS.

The C 400 X is a city scooter compared to the C 400 GT, which appears in a bigger body panel and a wider front end, making it not the right candidate to receive the GS treatment.

Based on the design concept by Oberdan, the C 400 GS received taller suspension travel combined with a long beak mudguard.

Meanwhile, the rear frame now features a slender and more rugged look paired to a single shock absorber replacing the dual-shock absorber on the C 400 X.

While this might be just another concept, the design looks promising and considering that BMW already offers the G 310 GS, who knows that there might be a GS version from the BMW scooter range.

BMW R 1250 GS dan R 1250 GS Adventure

BMW R 1250 GS dan R 1250 GS Adventure merupakan motosikal segmen adventure-touring yang dikuasakan enjin dua silinder boxer 1,245cc yang menghasilkan 136hp pada 7,750rpm dan 143Nm pada 6,250rpm.

Enjin ini meneruskan penggunaan sistem ShiftCam yang memastikan aliran kuasa enjin kekal di tahap optimum ketika berada dalam rpm tinggi mahupun rendah.

Menariknya, model 2021 dikemaskini dengan fungsi ‘electronic cruise control’ dan Eco Riding Mode sebagai standard.

Motosikal paling mampu milik dari BMW Motorrad turut dikemaskini bagi tahun 2021.

Barisan model G 310 telah dinaik taraf secara signifikan yang merangkumi ‘electronic throttle grip’ yang meningkatkan tahap responsif ‘throttle’ serta ‘automatic idle speed increase’ yang membantu mengelakkan daripada enjin mati.

Sistem membrek juga dipertingkat dengan bantuan ‘self-boosting anti-hopping clutch’ yang mengurangkan drag enjin.

Bagaimanapun, model G 310 R dan G 310 GS ini masih dikuaskan enjin silinder tunggal 313cc DOHC dengan penyejukan cecair yang menghasilkan 34hp pada 9,500rpm dan 28Nm pada 7,500rpm.

Skuter maxi dari BMW Motorrad juga dikemaskini bagi tahun 2021.

Model generasi kedua ini didatangkan sistem membrek yang lebih efisien, enjin Euro 5 dengan fungsi E-Gas, pengurusan enjin (engine management) baharu dan klac jenis centrifugal.

BMW turut menaik taraf Automatic Stability Control (ASC) yang menawarkan kawalan jentera lebih baik di atas permukaan basah dan licin.

Ruang letak barang bawah tempat duduk juga mendapat nyalaan LED di samping port pengecas USB.

BMW C 400 X merupakan motosikal bercirikan gaya urban manakala C 400 GT menawarkan ergonomik yang lebih selesa dan sesuai untuk tunggangan jarak jauh (touring) hasil bantuan penghadang angin yang lebih tinggi dan panel badan yang lebih lebar.

Kedua-dua model ini masih dikuasakan enjin silinder tunggal 350cc (buatan Loncin) yang berupaya menghasilkan 34hp pada 7,500rpm dan 35Nm pada 5,750rpm.

Setiap pembelian model 2021 ini didatangkan dengan waranti tiga tahun dan bantuan tepi jalan tiga tahun oleh BMW Motorrad Malaysia.

BMW Motorrad Malaysia has just launched the new C 400 X and C 400 GT priced at RM44,500 and RM48,500 respectively.

The 2nd-gen scooter arrives with the revised brake system, Euro 5 single-cylinder engine with new E-gas feature, better engine management and centrifugal clutch.

Both the C 400 X and C 400 GT now gets an optimized Automatic Stability Control (ASC), including a now illuminated under-seat storage and USB port.

The C 400 X retains its practicality as an urban scooter with upright proportions, a front mudguard, and the clear, graphic separation of the painted trim components.

On the other hand, the C 400 GT offers comfortable riding ergonomics and a high windshield for touring purposes.

Nonetheless, both models continue to be powered by the Loncin built 350cc engine capable of producing 34hp @ 7,500rpm and 35Nm @ 5,750rpm.

BMW claimed that the ASC system is optimized for a more sensitive response, especially on wet and slippery surfaces.

The C 400 GT is available in Black Storm, Callisto Grey and Alpine White, while the C 400 X is only available in the Black Storm colour scheme.

Bagi tahun 2021, enjin 350cc satu silinder ini kini berstatus Euro 5 namun kekal menawarkan 34hp pada 7,500rpm dan 35Nm pada 5,750rpm serta dipadankan bersama transmisi jenis CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Pada masa sama, BMW turut memperkenalkan fungsi ‘electronic throttle grip’ di samping sistem pengurusan enjin baharu.

Beberapa bahagian enjin juga telah dikemas kini antaranya, catalytic converter, O2 sensor, cylinder head, wiring harness dan kelajuan idle.

Susulan mencapai piawaian Euro 5, enjin juga lebih lancar dan lebih sensitif kepada pulasan throttle manakala gegaran sewaktu dalam ‘idle’ kurang dirasai.

Sistem ‘Automatic Stability Control'(ASC) turut dioptimumkan bagi model 2021 antaranya kalibrasi boleh dilakuakn secara automatik berbanding manual seperti sebelum ini antaranya ketika pertukaran tayar.

Menurut BMW Motorrad, ASC tidak lagi perlu dinyahaktifkan ketika menunggang atas permukaan basah dan licin.

Ruang letak barang dengan Flexcase 45L kini menerima pencahayaan lebih baik dengan cahaya datang dari atas berbanding sisi seperti model sebelum ini.

Selain daripada soket 12V, ruang letak barang di bahagian depan sebelah kanan kini menempatkan port pengecas USB.

BMW C 400 X didatangkan dengan tiga warna pilihan, Blackstorm metallic, Granite Grey sementara varian Style Sport datang dengan warna Blackstorm Metallic dan Racingblue Metallic.

Manakala C 400 GT datang dengan warna Alpine White dan Kallisto Grey dan Blackstorm Metallic bagi varian Style Triple Black.

  • Model BMW C 400 GT 2019 telah diperkenalkan di EICMA 2018.
  • Ia berkongsi enjin serta kerangka yang sama seperti model C 400 X, namun, tanda nama GT-nya itu bermakna yang model ini adalah untuk perjalanan jarak jauh.
  • Dilengkapi dengan pelbagai ciri yang menakjubkan seperti cakera brek hadapan berganda, skrin TFT 6.5 inci, dan lain-lain lagi.

The 2019 BMW C 400 GT was introduced at EICMA 2018 as part of BMW Motorrad’s Urban Mobility range.

The C 400 GT is geared as a grand touring (hence “GT”) maxi scooter despite sharing the same platform as the popular C 400 X. The latter has won many awards as the best scooter in European countries, by the way.

Its 350cc, SOHC, four-valve engine produces 34 bhp at 7,500 RPM and 35 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. It is mated to a steel underbone frame of the X, but the suspension is revised. The GT has more bodywork and a larger screen for protection against the elements. The seat is also larger for long-range comfort.

It uses 43mm telescopic forks that are mated to a 15-inch front wheel. The rear is suspended by twin shocks with a 14-inch wheel. The C 400 GT uses two 265mm discs in front, gripped by two four-piston calipers. The rear brake is also a 265mm disc but handled by a single-piston caliper.

Touring capabilities include improved storage spaces, consisting of two glove boxes and a flex-case under the seat. Other standard features are all-around LED lighting, keyless ignition, two-channel ABS, steel-braided brake hoses and stability control.

Of course, BMW Motorrad offers plenty of options. Customers can choose between the analog/LCD or 6.5-inch full-colour TFT instrument panel. The latter option hooks up multimedia functions such as your smartphone, music and GPS.
