Benelli telah pun melancarkan Leoncino 800 secara global pada lewat tahun lalu.
Meskipun model baharu itu belum tiba di semua pasaran dunia namun Benelli bakal memperkenalkan versi lebih berkuasa dan ringan berdasarkan dokumen yang telah difailkan di China.
Menurut dokumen tersebut Leoncino 800 baharu itu akan menawarkan 87hp berbanding 80hp yang ditawarkan model sebelumnya.
Bukan itu sahaja, model baharu itu -yang dijangka diperkenalkan hujung tahun ini- tampil lebih ringan dengan 209kg berbanding 220kg sebelum ini sekaligus memperbaiki nisbah kuasa kepada berat jentera.
Ketika ini, pasaran negara menerusi pengedar rasmi MForce Bike Holdings hanya menawarkan dua versi Leoncino, 250 dan 500cc.

Both share the same engine and frame.
The Trail has a 19-inch front wheel.
As expected, the 2020 Benelli Leoncino 800 and 2020 Benelli Leconcino 800 Trail were launched at EICMA 2019.
Pictures of the bike were leaked a couple of months back, but they didn’t indicate that there will be two variants. Both bikes share the same engine and frame platform. They are powered by a754cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin which produces 81.6 bhp at 9,000 RPM and 67 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM. It’s power may not be as high as its contemporaries but the 2,500 RPM spread of power between maximum torque and horsepower shows that the engine has a wide powerband — “flexible” as we usually call it.
Both “Lion Cubs” (that’s what “Leoncino” means) use Benelli’s signature steel trellis frame.Stopping duties are handled by Brembo (instead of Benelli) monobloc brake calipers and 320 mm discs up front. ABS is standard.
The base version feature 17-inch wheels front and rear, while the Trail sees a 19-inch front and 10mm more suspension travel. The Trail’s most significant design cue are the twin upswept exhaust pipes.
The Leoncino pair are rather heavy. The base, street-oriented variant tips the scales at 220 kg, while the Trail is 224 kg.
Ketika Benelli melancarkan Leoncino 500 dan 250 di Malaysia, ramai yang menghamburkan komen positif terutamanya daripada aspek rekaan yang mencerimkan motosikal jenis cafe racer/scrambler.
Meskipun pada masa sama terdapat pihak yang skeptikal dengan ketahanan dan kemampuan enjin yang dihasilkan Benelli namun pengeluar motosikal Itali itu memadam kritikan tatkala Leoncino Trail 500 berjaya menamatkan perlumbaan di Rimba Raid 2019 yang berlangsung di Janda Baik, Julai lalu.
Kali ini, Benelli memperkenalkan Leoncino versi baharu dengan enjin 800cc di EICMA 2019 dengan dua varian dilancarkan, Leoncino 800 dan Leoncino Trail 800.
Benelli Leoncino 800
Mengekalkan rekaan ikonik Leoncino dengan tema retro dan sentuhan minimalis namun varian baharu ini tampil lebih garang dan aura sebuah scrambler.
Enjin dua silinder (tapi bunyi macam empat silinder) 754cc ini menghasilkan 81.6hp pada 9,000rpm dan 67Nm pada 6,500rpm yang kemudiannya disalurkan menerusi transmisi enam kelajuan dengan bantuan slipper clutch.
Leoncino 800 ini turut didatangkan dengan fork USD Marzocchi dan penyerap hentakan belakang dengan preload boleh laras.
Menariknya, model ini turut dilengkapi dengan kaliper brek Brembo empat piston di bahagian depan dan kaliper dua piston di bahagian belakang sementara tayar 17 inci mengisi bahagian depan dan belakang.
Benelli Leoncino 800 yang pada awalnya akan ditayangkan di EICMA 2019 akhirnya didedahkan lebih awal di China.
Model ini pernah ditayangkan kepada orang awam sebagai jentera konsep ketika di EICMA 2018 bagaimanapun terdapat beberapa perubahan kecil dilakukan.
Rekaan keseluruhan tampak sama seperti yang terdapat pada Leoncino 500 namun lampu hadapan lebih bujur di samping turut didatangkan dengan penhadang angin yang kecil.
Seperti Leoncino 500 dan 250, model ini turut dilegkapi logo Lion of Pesaro di bahagian fender depan.
Difahamkan, Leoncino 800 mendapat enjin 754cc yang sama terdapat pada Benelli 752S parallel-twin yang mampu menghasilkan 76.8hp dan 67Nm bagaimanapun, terdapat dakwaan bahawa model ini akan menghasilkan kuasa yang lebih tinggi tatkala Benelli menamakan jentera ini sebagai 800 dan bukannya 752.
Sementara itu, sistem brek turut dipertingkat dengan penggunaan kaliper radial Brembo empat pot di bahagian depan dan satu pot di bahagian belakang.
ABS turut difahamkan akan didatangkan secara standard.

The bike follows the Leoncino 502’s neo retro design.
The Benelli Leoncino 800 concept was unveiled at EICMA last year but the picture of a production ready prototype was leaked recently.
According to Bennets, the picture came from Benelli’s submission for vehicle type approval. The Leoncino 800 utilises the 754cc parallel-Twin from the 752S (not available in Malaysia), while retaining the neo retro styling of the Leoncino 502.
The engine produces 74 HP and the manufacturer claimed a top speed of 190 km/h. The document also listed its weight at 223 kg, ready to ride.
As the picture shows, the bike features the usual beefy forks clamped by equally thick triple clamps. Braking is handled by Benelli-branded calipers with large brake discs. ABS is standard as the sensor plate is apparent on the left disc.
But unlike the concept, the production bike uses cast instead of spoked wheels.
The bike should be launched officially soon and we shall see if it comes to Malaysia.
While built in China, Benelli motorcycles are designed and engineered in Italy. The brand has grown stronger over the years and the TRK502 is now the third best-selling motorcycle in Italy behind the BMW R 1250 GS and Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin so far this year.
Benelli is currently owned by Qianjiang Motorcycle Company. Recently, Harley-Davidson inked a deal with the company to produce smaller displacement models for China and Asia.

Direka khas bagi penunggang yang mahu memulakan pengembaraan, Benelli mendakwa TRK 251 mampu mendominasi laluan mencabar meskipun dikendalikan penunggang novis.
Enjin satu silinder dengan sistem penyejukan cecair dan double overhead camshaft ini mampu menghasilkan 20.0kW pada 10,500rpm yang disalurkan menerusi transmisi 6-kelajuan.

Leoncino 250 merupakan adik kepada Leoncino 500 yang telah pun dipasarkan ke Malaysia lebih awal. Menariknya, Benelli masih mengekalkan reka bentuk sama ke dalam versi lebih kecil ini.
Lahir daripada Centro Stile Benelli di Itali , rupa keseluruhan Leoncino menampakkan lagi legasi pengeluar motosikal Itali itu.
Leoncino 250 dilengkapi enjin thumper 249cc yang mampu menghasilkan 25hp pada 9,000rpm dan 21Nm pada 7,500rpm.
