After months of stagnation, Bajaj has finally introduced the eagerly awaited Pulsar NS200.

Though not yet fully introduced, a new TV commercial has shown an upgraded LED headlight featuring integrated LED DRL, signaling a departure from the previous model’s design.

The 2024 Pulsar NS200 also boasts a redesigned digital instrument console and updated switchgear, echoing the recent enhancements observed in some of the top-spec variants of Pulsar N150 and N160.

The outgoing NS200, introduced in 2012, has maintained its semi-digital instrument console with minimal changes. The new LCD digital instrument screen features Bluetooth connectivity, facilitating seamless integration with the Bajaj Ride Connect App.

Users gain access to a wealth of information, including calls, text messages, mobile signal strength, battery health, and turn-by-turn navigation. The revamped switchgear introduces a dedicated Mode button for navigating the functions of the new LCD instrument display.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 receives a visual makeover with sportier graphics, decals, and the introduction of new color options. The existing color palette includes Glossy Ebony Black, Metallic Pearl White, Cocktail Wine Red – White, and Pewter Grey – Blue.

While retaining much of its mechanical prowess, the NS200 continues to feature USD forks and standard dual-channel ABS. The braking system consists of 300 mm and 230 mm discs at the front and rear, respectively, along with a Nitrox mono shock absorber at the rear. Both front and rear wheels are fitted with 17-inch tires (100/80 front and 130/70 rear).

Powering the NS200 is the same 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, triple spark, 4-valve, FI DTS-i engine, delivering 24.5 PS of maximum power and 18.74 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

With these updates, the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 may see a modest price increase.

For Malaysians, the Bajaj Pulsar is known as the Modenas Pulsar since it is assembled and distributed by the national bike maker.

The Pulsar has enjoyed success since it offers good value for money. But the updates have stopped for a while and the Pulsar now looks and feels dated as compared to the competition. So it is about time that the Malaysian model is updated.

The next generation Bajaj Pulsar 250 is in the pipeline, with the India automaker is seen testing out the production-ready motorcycle.

Rumoured to be based on the same 250cc powered the Dominar 250, reports in India suggest that the Pulsar 250 will carry an all-new design input and will not follow the current Pulsar 200.

We can assume the Pulsar 250 to adopt the latest specs in terms of full LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and fully digital meter in terms of features.

Nonetheless, the 250c variant is expected to maintain some features from the 200, such as the alloy rims and rear hugger.

The 248.7cc single-cylinder DOCH liquid cool engine produced 27hp @ 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm @ 6,500rpm and paired to a 6-speed transmission with assist & slipper clutch.

– BW

Recently, Bajaj allegedly will introduce a 400cc version of the Pulsar RS, sharing the same platform as the Dominar.

However, the latest updates suggest that the Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer will launch a 250cc version of the Pulsar NS and RS later this year.

The report indicates that Bajaj has produced a prototype of the 250cc twins with the road testing will commence soon.

*Bajaj Dominar 250

The report came as no surprise as Bajaj has already introduced a 250cc version of the Dominar and is enjoying considerable success in India.

That said, we can expect the Pulsar NS250 and RS250 to come equipped with the same component as you get on the Dominar 250 such as inverted fork and LED headlights.

Currently, the 248.8cc single-cylinder engine that powers the Dominar 250 produces 24hp @ 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm @ 6,500rpm.

We all know for a fact that the Bajaj Pulsar range is very popular in India which is very much in tuned with the country’s youth group. This comes down to what they have to offer in terms of styling and relatively reliable performance packaged in competitive pricing. This might see a slight change, though. (more…)

Recently, reports of the possible launch of the all-new Bajaj Pulsar RS400 coming this August have been floating around online. Media outlets from around the globe (including us) have been keeping an eye on this new 400cc sports bike, even the possibility of it being unveiled for the Indonesian market in a couple of months. But, is that really the case? Is it really happening? Is it all true? (more…)

  • There are rumors of a Bajaj Pulsar NS250 for 2020.

  • It will take the manufacturer into the 250cc segment.

  • There is no detail yet, but the new bike ought to be better equipped than the 200 line-up.

Rumours are running amok that a Bajaj Pulsar NS250 will be launched in India in 2020.

If it is true, the development follows the cancellation of the Pulsar NS180. The introduction of a 250cc model will bring Bajaj into the fray currently dominated by the likes of Kawasaki and Yamaha. Suzuki is also slated to introduce their own 250 soon.

As with the NS200 and RS200 that are developed based on the KTM 200 Duke and RC 200, the NS250 should also benefit from Bajaj’s joint venture with the Austrian manufacturer. Consequently, the engine dimensions ought to similar, if not identical, to the KTM’s. However, the tuning between the Bajaj and KTM engine may differ.

The picture below shows a rendering by SRK Designs and published by Indian Autos Blog.

The new 250 should be equipped with a dual-channel ABS ex-factory, if the manufacturer wants to place the bike among the premium brands. Besides, in Europe, all motorcycles 125cc and above are mandated to be equipped with ABS. Doing so also differentiates the 250 from the 200 models.

The Modenas Pulsar NS200 has been quite popular in Malaysia despite some people saying Modenas should be able to build its own bikes. Well, that’s a different story altogether but for what it is, the NS200 is a good bike for those looking for a cheap step up to bigger capacity motorcycles.

There are many reviews on the internet already, and we have also tested both the bikes with the review already in our draft board waiting to be published. Well, we were going to publish it today, but then we got hold of this video of someone taking the NS200 on a top speed run.

Well, the Modenas NS200 barely manages 151km/h, but some of our friends have seen 156km/h but it was on a downhill, so it doesn’t count. But that is not too shabby considering the price of the bike, we are just curious as to how stable the bike was at that speed. Watch for our review, meanwhile, enjoy the video!
