  • He didn’t sustain bad injuries in the accident although his tongue required seven stitches, besides losing his phone and money.

  • Azlan is slated to begin his 2018 season preparation soon.

2017 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 600cc champion, Azlan Shah was involved in a traffic accident later yesterday.

“I was travelling home from Sunway. The road was very dark and I suddenly hit a lorry. I blacked out immediately and realised I was in the hospital when I came to,” said the rider when speaking to Malaysian daily, Berita Harian.

Onlookers rushed Azlan to the Selayang Hospital after witnessing the crash which totalled his Toyota.

“I’m thankful that I escaped relatively unscathed, although I’ve lost my cellphone and money,” he continued. He received a deep cut to his tongue for which it received seven stitches. “I could eat or talk much due to the multiple stitches. It’s only porridge for me at the moment.”

Azlan will be heading to the Chang International Circuit at Buriram, Thailand to being his pre-season preparations today.

“The accident will not affect my focus on defending my championship this year. My determination and motivation remains unchanged from last year. It’s going to be more competitive this year but I believe I could still put up a big challenge.”

Azlan will be riding for the Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki Racing team from Indonesia this year.

Our very own Malaysian rider Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman made it to a podium finish in second together with Kawasaki Team Green in the 2017 Suzuka 8 Hours FIM Word Endurance Championship race in Suzuka yesterday.

Together with BSB rider Leon Haslam and Japanese Kazuma Watanabe, Team Green scored the second podium position just behind the Yamaha Factory Racing Team which took home their third consecutive win.

Team F.C.C TSR Honda finished in third with their Honda CBR1000RR SP2 race machine piloted by Randy de Puniet, Dominique Aegerter and Josh Hook.

Besides the annual Art of Speed Malaysia 2017 gathering, the 40th Coca Cola Suzuka 8 Hours FIM World Endurance Championship took place in Suzuka, Japan this past weekend. This weekend also marked a historic moment where three Malaysian riders competed in the iconic eight hours race but what’s even more amazing was the fact that one of our very own made it onto the podium! The Boon Siew Honda Motorsports Team has been selected as the first ever Malaysian outfit to handle the Satu HATI Honda Team Asia for the 40th Coca Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance race.

Boon Siew Honda Motorsports Team Manager, Zulhelmi bin Ahmad together with his mechanic team will be the first ever Malaysian team to not only support but lead the Satu HATI Honda Team Asia in Suzuka this year.

This year, Malaysian rider Zaqhwan Zaidi together with Indonesian Dimas Ekky Pramata and Thai ARRC rider Ratthapong Wilairot will give their all to emerge as victors in the endurance race.

The BSH Motorsport team prepare the shine at the international stage.

  • Perlumbaan ketahanan Suzuka 8 Hours untuk kali ke-40 akan sekali lagi menyaksikan para penunggang dan juga pasukan dari seluruh dunia bersaing di salah satu perlumbaan ketahanan terulung di dunia sepanjang masa bermula dari 27 hingga 30 Julai 2017.
  • Perlumbaan untuk tahun ini menandakan ulang tahun ke-40nya dan akan ada tiga penunggang negara yang akan turut serta bertanding; penunggang Moto2 Hafizh Syahrin, penunggang ARRC semasa Azlan Shah, dan juga juara ARRC 2016 Zaqhwan Zaidi.

The 40th Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race will once again see riders and teams from all over the world fighting for one of the greatest motorcycle endurance races of all time from 27 to 30 July 2017.

This year’s race marks the race’s 40th anniversary where three Malaysians will be competing; Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin, current ARRC rider Azlan Shah and 2016 ARRC champion Zaqhwan Zaidi.

Hafizh Syahrin will race together with Team Kagayama on board the Suzuki GSX-R1000, Zaqhwan Zaidi with Team Satu HATI on board the latest Honda CBR1000RR and Azlan Shah will be racing with Team Green and their infamous Kawasaki ZX-10R.

The countdown to the 40th Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race is getting closer and closer. One of the world’s most iconic motorcycle endurance race sponsored by Coca Cola will run its course from 27 July 2017 to 30 July 2017. (more…)

  • Anthony West (Akeno Speed WJR Racing Team) was disqualified from both ARRC (Asia Road Racing Championship) Round Two races due to ‘technical infringement’

  • West originally finished third in Race One and first in Race Two at the Buriram International Circuit

  • “Team Akeno Speed Racing had refused to strip the motorcycle at parc ferme for post-race scrutineering.”

Following the recent round of Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Thailand just last weekend, we saw that our home-grown hero Azlan Shah from the Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki Racing Team emerged victorious in both races of Round 2.

The race ran its course around the Buriram International Circuit which was filled with more than the usual drama and excitement. One of which would be Anthony West’s disqualification from both races in which he had obtained podium positions.

The recent ARRC (Asia Road Racing Championship) round held at the Buriram International Circuit saw plenty of action from all of the categories that took part from 13 – 15 April 2017. The second round saw Malaysian rider Azlan Shah as the double winner for both Super Sports 600cc races at the 4.554km track. (more…)
