Asia Road Racing Championship

  • The first round of ARRC (Asia Road Racing Championship) saw Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman taking the first ever win the ASB1000 class.

  • The ONEXOX TKKR SAG Racing Team rider and his BMW S 1000 RR delivered a masterclass victory at the Sepang International Circuit.

  • Thitipong Warokorn (KAWASAKI Thailand Racing Team) and Ahmad Yudhistira (VICTOR RACING TEAM) completed the podium spots in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The Honda Group of Companies in Asia and Oceania confirms their direction to strengthen Honda’s involvement in motorcycle racing in the Asia & Oceania region. The media briefing was held after the qualifying day at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at Buriram International Circuit, Thailand.

Honda confirmed it will pursue the challenges of motorcycle road racing in the region with an aim to develop world-class motorcycle riders and team mechanics from Asia. To achieve this goal, Honda is committed to creating a motorsport culture as well as developing the skills of racers and team mechanics throughout Asia.

In line with this commitment, Honda’s motorcycle subsidiaries in Asia including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India have been following the regional direction in their operations through a variety of motorsports activities such as establishing the Honda racing school, forming their own road racing teams, organizing local Honda one-make races, and competing in local, national, and international races.

Honda’s young riders and team mechanics continue to broaden their experience and improve their skills through intensive training and by competing in various races for local and national championships. The most promising stars will move up to greater challenges by joining Honda’s racing team for international races namely the ARRC. Outstanding riders and mechanics from Honda’s Asian teams will ultimately have a chance to join Honda’s racing teams for world-class races.

At the briefing, Honda also provided an update on its teams that are participating in the 2018 ARRC. Currently, Honda teams from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India are competing in the Underbone 150cc (UB150), Asia Production 250cc (AP250), and Supersport 600cc (SS600) classes. They have achieved impressive results, especially in the AP250 class, in which Honda rider Rheza Danica of the Astra Honda Racing Team from Indonesia is set to take the 2018 AP250 rider championship.

Honda also confirmed its participation in the inaugural Asia Superbike1000cc class (ASB1000) at the 2019 ARRC with Honda Asia-Dream Racing, a team for which top personnel from Honda subsidiaries and Honda racing teams across the Asia and Oceania region are being recruited. Former MotoGP racer Makoto Tamada was confirmed as team manager and Zaqhwan Zaidi from Malaysia as team rider. This year, the team finished in 17th place in the Japan Superbike 1000cc class (JSB1000) at the 2018 All-Japan Road Race Championship (JSB) and took 7thplace in the Suzuka 8-hour Endurance Race. In 2019, Honda Asia-Dream Racing will continue to participate in both championships, challenging itself to perform better and finish in higher positions.

With the collaboration of team members from Honda companies throughout the Asia & Oceania region, Honda will strive to deliver the best race results to realize the dream of having a Honda team and riders become a challenger in world-class motorcycle racing.

Representing Honda were Mr. Soichi Yamana, Department Manager of Motorcycle Department, Motorsports Division, Honda Motor Co., Ltd.; Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Director of Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd.; Mr. Ryo Takahashi, General Manager of Motorcycle Business Division, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Makoto Tamada, Team Manager of the Honda Asia-Dream Racing.

Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman plans to overtake the championship lead this weekend in Round 2 of the 2018 ARRC series.

The Manual Tech KYT Kawasaki Racing Team rider has the advantage as Anthony West will be missing from the round.

Azlan is currently in second place behind Anthony West with a 13-point gap.

As we head towards the second round of the 2018 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), our very hometown hero Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman is aiming for that very important championship lead in the premier 600cc category. (more…)

  • Pasukan Honda Asia-Dream Racing Team telah dilancarkan secara rasmi pada awal hari ini bersama dengan penunggang handalannya, Zaqhwan Zaidi.
  • Pasukan yang baru dibentuk itu akan memulakan persaingannya dengan menyertai All-Japan Road Race Championship 2018 dan perlumbaan ketahanan Suzuka 8-hour.
  • Mereka kemudiannya akan mengalihkan tumpuan mereka ke arah kelas Superbike baru dalam siri perlumbaan Asia Road Racing Championship bermula pada tahun 2019.

The Honda Asia-Dream Racing Team was officially launched earlier today with their star rider, Zaqhwan Zaidi.

The newly-formed team will start competing in the 2018 All-Japan Road Race Championship and Suzuka 8-hour endurance race.

Their focus will then shift towards the new Superbike class in the Asia Road Racing Championship beginning 2019.

To further strengthen their ever-growing presence and dominance in the world of motorcycle racing, Honda Group of Companies in Asia & Oceania has officially introduced the Honda Asia-Dream Racing team earlier today.   • Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMSB) telah membekalkan motosikal perlumbaan yang diperlukan untuk para penunggang muda yang dipilih untuk menyertai program SIC “Impian ke MotoGP”.
  • Beberapa buah unit motosikal jalan raya Kawasaki Ninja 250 SL yang telah ditala untuk perlumbaan yang akan digunakan oleh penunggang-penunggang tersebut untuk berlatih di bawah kelolaan Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
  • Kawasaki Malaysia dikenali kerana aktif bergiat dalam mendokong arena perlumbaan tempatan dan industri sukan permotoran kebangsaan.

  • Lima penunggang muda telah terpilih untuk program “Impian ke MotoGP”, sebuah program yang dianjurkan oleh Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC).
  • Penunggang yang berusia dari 13 hingga 15 tahun tersebut akan menjalani regimen latihan intensif yang diketuai oleh pelumba negara, Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
  • Dua penunggang terbaik akan diberikan peluang untuk bertanding di dalam siri perlumbaan FIM CEV Repsol Sepanyol dan juga Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC) beserta dengan Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSC).

Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMSB) has supplied the race bikes needed for the young riders selected to undergo the Impian ke MotoGP SIC program.

A few units of the Kawasaki Ninja 250 SL streets bikes which have been tuned for racing will be used by the riders to train led by Zulfahmi Khairuddin.

Kawasaki Malaysia is known for being active in supporting the local racing scene and national motorsports industry.

In our recent report this morning, five young riders have been chosen to join the Impian ke MotoGP or ‘Dream to MotoGP’ program organised by the Sepang International Circuit (SIC). The training program which will be spearheaded by our very own national rider Zulfahmi Khairuddin will begin in the next few weeks. (more…)

Five young riders have been chosen for the Impian ke MotoGP or ‘Dream to MotoGP’ program organised by Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

Riders aged 13 to 15 will undergo an intensive training regime spearheaded by national racer, Zulfahmi Khairuddin.

The best two riders will be given the chance to compete in the Spanish FIM CEV Repsol as well as Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) and Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSC).

Out of the hundreds who applied for the ‘Impian ke MotoGP’ or ‘Dream to MotoGP’ program conducted by the Sepang International Circuit, 40 worthy individuals were chosen for the selection process a few days ago at the Sepang International Go Kart Circuit. (more…)

  • Pegawai SIC telah mengumumkan bahawa Petronas tidak akan menaja Hafizh Syahrin untuk Moto2 musim 2018.
  • Desas desus itu akhirnya telah disahkan lewat semalam tetapi SIC juga telah mengatakan bahawa penunggang berusia 23 tahun itu akan masih berlumba pada tahun 2018 bagi sebuah pasukan Moto2 SIC yang baru ditubuhkan.
  • Petronas hanya akan menaja penunggang Moto3 pada musim hadapan di bawah pasukan Petronas Sprinta Racing, iaitu Adam Norrodin dan Ayamu Sasaki.

SIC officials have announced that Petronas will not sponsor Hafizh Syahrin for Moto2 in the 2018 season.

The rumours were finally confirmed late yesterday but SIC also stated that the 23 year old will still race in 2018 under a newly-formed Moto2 team under SIC.

Petronas will only support the Moto3 riders next season under the Petronas Sprinta Racing team which are Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki.

The rumours that have been going around for quite some time are finally confirmed late yesterday when Petronas announced that they will not be sponsoring national rider Hafizh Syahrin to continue his Moto2 efforts in 2018. (more…)
