During the first race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round in Misano, the intense race concluded with Tom Sykes, Alex Lowes and Jonathan Rea crossing the finish line.

During the final lap, Chaz Davies, Jonathan Rea and Marco Melandri who were leading the race before Melandri crashed out halfway through the lap.

Davies suffered the same front tyre wash out but Rea wasn’t able to avoid him and ran over the 30 year old Brit with his Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

During the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round which ran its course at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, it was a weekend filled with drama and action for the race series that’s probably one the climatic points in the Superbike World Championship races. (more…)

The second WorldSBK race in Misano saw an amazing first race victory for Marco Melandri (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) since 2014 in front of his home crowd.

Starting from tenth, Melandri picked up his pace to cross the finish line first ahead of Kawasaki riders, Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes.

Chaz Davies was deemed unfit to compete in Race 2 due to extensive injuries sustained in the unfortunate Race 1 incident between him and Rea while fighting for the win.

It was a fairytale comeback for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider Marco Melandri as he snatched his first ever WorldSBK victory since 2014. The victory was sweeter due to the fact that it was Melandri’s home race in front of his home fans at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for the second race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round yesterday. The first race of the WorldSBK Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round held at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” saw Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) crossing the line in first place in the final lap drama.

All three front runners who are Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Marco Melandri crashed out in the final lap of the race.

Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) secured second followed by Rea who managed to salvage the final podium spot after the huge collision with Davies.

It was an epic win for Kawasaki Racing Team rider Tom Sykes who miraculously crossed the finished line in first place during the first race of the Pirelli Riviera Di Rimini Round held at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”. It was an amazing win considering that he was in fourth at the beginning of the final lap with a significant gap between Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team), Chaz Davies and his Aruba.it Racing Ducati team mate, Marco Melandri.   • Pusingan keenam dalam siri perlumbaan WorldSBK musim ini berlangsung di Donington Park hujung minggu lalu menyaksikan Tom Sykes dan Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) mendominasi kedua-dua perlumbaan, menyumbang kepada kemenangan yang ke-100 dalam kejohanan ini bagi pasukan itu.
  • Tom Sykes memenangi Perlumbaan 1 diikuti oleh Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) di tempat kedua dan Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Racing) di tempat ketiga.

The sixth round of the WorldSBK race held in Donington Park last weekend saw Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) dominated both races contributing to the team’s 100th win in the championship.

Tom Sykes won Race 1 with Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) in second followed by Alex Lowes (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Racing) in third.

Jonathan Rea made an amazing comeback in Race 2 with the win followed by Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies.

It was a clear and landslide victory for both the Kawasaki Racing Team riders this past race weekend during the UK Round of the WorldSBK race held at the legendary Donington Park. After an interesting outcome from Race 1 which saw two of the top podium contenders crashing out, it was Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) aka “The King of Donington” who took the whole shot for Race 1.   • Davies berjaya mengekang kemaraan Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing) di Litar Imola yang telah menamatkan perlumbaannya di tempat kedua untuk kedua-dua perlumbaan.
  • Marco Melandri dan Tom Sykes masing-masing menamatkan perlumbaan di tempat ketida dan keempat di Perlumbaan 1 dan bertukar posisi di Perlumbaan 2.

The WorldSBK scene is considering introducing a standardised electronic package for all bikes competing in the races.

This has been brought into light to make the sport more competitive and exciting for teams and riders taking parts and also for the spectators as well.

The regulated spec-ECU hopes to give a fighting chance for other teams and riders to make it on podium as the first five rounds of 2017 were clearly dominated by only Kawasaki and Ducati.

The WorldSBK has been going through a few evolutions for the past couple of years to make sure that the motorsport is up to date with current times. With the introduction of the new starting line up where the podium finishers in Race 1 will start from the third row in reversed order, the WorldSBK is doing everything they can to make the races as interesting as they can be.

Now, rumours are floating around the garages that they will be introducing a standard ECU (Electronic Control Unit) for 2018 in hopes that the races will give a fair competition to all manufacturers and teams in the WorldSBK arena. This option has been discussed for a while now to make the race more exciting and competitive for all competitors in the field.

The other reason why some folks are calling out for the unified electronic packages is probably due to the fact that the sport is being dominated by the likes of Ducati and Kawasaki. All 10 races in the past five rounds since the start of the 2017 season has clearly being conquered by Jonathan Rea from Kawasaki Racing Team and Chaz Davies from Aruba.it Racing Ducati squad.

Actually, the podiums finishes for all of the 2017 races so far are all shared between just four different riders; Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes from Kawasaki, Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri from Ducati. No other manufacturers have stepped up to the podium spot so far.

This is probably due to the fact that Kawasaki and Ducati have the necessary funds and manpower to develop superior electronic packages for their bikes and riders while other manufacturers are somewhat limited in those two aspects. So, we can understand why there’s a calling for a standardised electronic package like MotoGP to even out the playing field.

All in all, there’s one question remains. Will the spec-ECU help the sport or will it affect the overall development of the manufacturer’s products when they go on sale in their respective showrooms? Well, race wins are a good way to promote the brands and products and those participating in the races do want to win.

We will only know in the near future whether the spec-ECU will be implemented in the world superbikes championship as how it is in MotoGP. One thing is for sure, an even playing field offers a much more interesting race instead of just seeing either green or red on crossing the finish lines time and time again.

WorldSBK Aruba.it Racing rider Chaz Davies took his Ducati 1199 Panigale R to the top of the podium in both races last weekend at the Motul Italian round.

Davies managed to fend off Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) at the Imola Circuit who crossed the chequered flag in P2 for both races.

Marco Melandri and Tom Sykes finished in P3 and P4 respectively in Race 1 but switched positions in Race 2.

The fifth WorldSBK round over at Imola saw Chaz Davies dominating the entire field with his Aruba.it Racing Ducati 1199 Panigale R for both races in the Motul Italian Round yesterday. The number 7 rider orchestrated a text book win in Race 1 where Davies started from pole position and was never challenged for the top podium spot throughout the entire race. (more…)

The all-metal Ducati Panigale R Cafe Racer is the brainchild of Swiss company of premier aftermarket distributor, Parts World.

Together with Ducati Zentralschweiz, Schaub Metalworks and Akrapovič, the dream team was assembled to pull off this amazing project.

Most of the metalwork was done by Raphael Schaub from Schaub Metalworks which was made all by hand without any form of electronic aids.

Yes, you read that right. This is a Ducati Panigale R cafe racer. Dubbed the ‘Blue Shark’ by its mad creators over at Swiss company Parts World, the project is more than just turning a state-of-the-art superbike into a one-off custom bike of the century. It was a glorious day yesterday for the Aruba.it Racing team where both of their riders, Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri scored double podiums in both WorldSBK races over at Aragon this past weekend.
