The International Motomania of Kuala Lumpur 2019 rocked the capital over the weekend, from Friday 22ndFebruary to Sunday 24thFebruary.
Held at the Malaysian Tourism Centre (MaTiC), it attracted motorcycle riders and fans, and tourists alike. There were fun activities throughout the day and through the night, so visitors never felt bored throughout.
Premium motorcycle and motorcycle-related product vendors were also present, including Harley-Davidson of Petaling Jaya, Aprilia Malaysia, Moto Guzzi Malaysia, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor, Indian Motorcycles, Ducati Malaysia and Shell Advance Malaysia.
Shell Advance Malaysia’s booth was busy throughout the event due to a special promotion. Visitors who bought the Shell Advance AX7 and Shell Advance Ultra with PurePlus Technology received exclusive cool towels, motorcycle covers and goodie bag. They also qualified for the lucky draws on the last day.
Besides them, there were also other vendors who displayed their products such as luxury cars (including a Ford Mustang!), retro motorcycles (Suzuki Katana, Suzuki RG500 Walter Wolf), riding gear and merchandize.
Activities included retro motorcycle competition, custom motorcycle competition, battle of the bands, and concerts featuring great rock icons such as Datuk Awie, Mus May, Bandi Amuk and others. There were also other local bands who took to the stage and they showcased the amount of raw talent Malaysians have.
Food and refreshment were provided by food trucks. They offered a great variety of local and international delights.

Buying a bike from a dealer is easy but finding the right dealer who will continue to take care of you long afterwards is not. Sheng Fatt Motor Sdn. Bhd., a true O-G of the motorcycle scene in Penang, recently showed how it takes care of its customers.
The company, in partnership with Aprilia Malaysia under the new distributor Didi Resources Sdn. Bhd., recently held a ‘shop talk’ session for its customers as well as any biker who wanted to join in.

The talk was hosted by Kheoh Hock Seng, the Managing Director of Sheng Fatt Motor together with the Aftersales Manager of Aprilia Malaysia, Idon Pang. The duo touched on topics such as bike care and maintenance, guidance on buying and using the correct riding gear. The event included a tour of the new official workshop for Aprilia motorcycles in Penang.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the shoptalk. Our objective was to share as much knowledge as we can with everyone who attended and judging by the turnout and the enthusiasm everyone showed, I am happy to say that it was a success,” said Hock Seng.
The talk, which was attended by about 20 Aprilia riders and of other makes, was held at the company’s showroom at No. 24, Jalan Dato Keramat, Penang.
As part of its customer outreach program for Aprilia as well as all bike owners, Sheng Fatt Motor Sdn Bhd is organising a special “shop talk session”.
The talk which will be hosted by Kheoh Hock Seng (bottom, first), Managing Director of Sheng Fatt Motor Sdn Bhd, as well as Idon Pang, the Aftersales Manager of Aprilia Malaysia (bottom, right), will include topics such as bike care and maintenance, a guide on buying and using the correct riding gear as well as a tour of the new official workshop for Aprilia motorcycles.
There will be a special certificate of attendance handed out to everyone who attends the talk, and it will take place at Sheng Fatt Motor Sdn Bhd, No 24, Jalan Dato Keramat, Pulau Pinang, 10150, Georgetown, Pulau Pinang.
“The shop talk session is not only for all Aprilia owners, but all bikers near and far. This is a chance to get to know their bikes better, to understand the proper usage of riding gear and why using the correct riding gear is so crucial. Our talented aftersales manager Idon Pang will also be sharing his riding experiences, and this is a great knowledge sharing session for all bikers. I believe it is a must attend event for all bikers,” said Kheoh Hock Seng.

Multiple World 250cc GP and World Superbike Champion, Max Biaggi, witnessed the grand opening of the new Aprilia 3S Centre in Malaysia by Didi Resources Sdn. Bhd. The new 3S centre is located at The Gasket Alley.
The brand’s owners and fans alike will definitely welcome the launch, as they now have a new place to call home.
“We are honoured to be given the trust and responsibility to manage Aprilia, a renowned brand under the Piaggio Group of Companies. The trust comes one year after we re-introduced Moto Guzzi in Malaysia,” said Mr. Rewi Hamid Bugo, Chairman of Didi Resources.
Mr. Rewi continued, “We will continue to invest in aftersales improvements and value-added services to the ownership experience like trackdays, racing support, rides and gatherings that is niche and unique to the brand’s owners.”
The grand launch also witnessed the signing of MOU’s between three dealers and Didi Resources. They are Welly World Cycle (Sungai Buloh), Sheng Fatt Superbike (Penang) and Soon Hin Co. (Kuantan).
Afterwards, Max Biaggi would then unveil the Aprilia brand box later, before he was given a tour of the facilities. Aprilia and Moto Guzzi Malaysia’s Head of Aftersales, Idon Pang guided Biaggi through the workshop and showroom.
Festivities continued with Biaggi autographing the showroom’s plaque before continuing on to autographing items of interest for fans.
Current Aprilia MotoGP riders Aleix Espargaro and Scott Redding joined the party later and continued the autograph session.
