VIDEO: Ducati Superleggera V4 rips around the track

Right after the official global live stream of the 2020 Ducati Streetfighter V4, Ducati released a short clip on YouTube showcasing the performance of their most powerful track-oriented yet street-legal machine yet, the Ducati Superleggera V4.

The world’s first production motorcycle with a full carbon fibre chassis portrayed in the video as the ultimate superbike, especially in the hands of its lead development rider, Alessandro Valia. As the core member of the entire Panigale V4 development team at Ducati, the Ducati Superleggera V4 sits at the very top with insane performance and superior aerodynamics.

But when you ask Valia about the bike, the Superleggera V4 and the rest of the new Panigale line-up (including the V4 and V2) are meant for extreme power delivery with ease of handling and control, even for amateurs. In essence, the Panigale V4 (even the Superleggera) focuses on four key aspects: performance, effort, repeatability, and confidence.

In other words, non-professional riders can exert less physical work to push the new Ducati superbikes to their limits. For professionals, dialling it down to exciting and explosively exhilarating levels while riding to new heights is now possible thanks to how the bike was designed, especially with its 159kg dry weight.

With a total power output of 234hp (when owners opt for the Akrapovic full titanium race exhaust), performance is still at the pinnacle of Italian motorcycle manufacturing but with the additions of huge biplane wings, aerodynamic enhancements, and enhanced centre of gravity, the Ducati Superleggera V4 is able to maintain that outright performance even when you’re dragging your knees and elbows at the apexes.

Ducati will only produce 500 units of the Superleggera V4 priced at around USD100,000 (RM407,760) each, owners will also have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive Superleggera V4 premium leather suit with integrated airbag and carbon fibre helmet from Dainese and Arai respectively.

AND there’s also the “SBK Experience” and “MotoGP Experience” where owners get the chance to ride the WorldSBK-spec Ducati Panigale V4 R and Ducati Desmosedici GP20!
