Vespa PX 70th Anniversary
Starting off with the Vespa PX 70th Anniversary, this classic gets treated with special paint scheme called ‘Azzuro 70th Anniversary’. It also comes brimmed with a special custom leather seat and bag set embossed with ‘70th Anniversary’ logo, as well as a chrome rear carrier unit to complement its original 1970s era design.

Based off the Vespa PX150 classic model, the 70th Anniversary special edition uses an equally classic two-stroke 150cc single-cylinder powertrain that’s Euro 3-compliant. It’s also brimmed with a front disc brake setup with a rear drum unit, Vespa’s signature swingarm, coil spring front suspension setup and 10-inch wheels.

Just 36 units of the Vespa PX 70th Anniversary model were imported by Vespa Malaysia and the order books are almost full. The firm is retailing this special edition of the classic model with a basic sales price of RM26,000 (without GST) – the most expensive of the three specials launched.

Vespa GTS 70th Anniversary
Next comes the Vespa GTS 70th Anniversary special edition model. Based off Vespa’s sporty GTS 150 Super, this variant also gets treated with the special anniversary paint scheme, custom leather seat and bag and chrome rear carrier.

It retains the GTS 150 Super base bike’s four-stroke 154.8cc single-cylinder three-valve engine primed with electronic fuel injection. It healthily outputs roughly 14.8hp @ 9,750rpm and 12Nm @ 7,500rpm that’s managed by a twist-and-go automatic transmission.

The chassis is equipped with an Enhanced Sliding Suspension (ESS) version of Vespa’s signature single arm front suspension unit paired with a double hydraulic rear shock absorber with pre-load adjustability, a disc brake setup up front, as well as 12-inch wheels.

2016 Vespa Primavera ABS
Next up comes the first of new-for-2016 models launched by Vespa Malaysia, the 2016 Vespa Primavera ABS. This is essentially the current Primavera model that’s been uprated with a new powertrain and an enhanced features list.

At the core of the Primavera is the new Piaggio i-Get engine that boasts optimised efficiency, lowered emissions and increased reliability over the mill it replaces. The four-stroke 154.8cc single-cylinder three-valve mill primed with fuel injection outputs 12.7hp @ 7,750rpm and 12.8Nm @ 6,500rpm, with both sent to the rear wheel via a twist-and-go automatic box.

Also new on board is the ABS (anti-lock brakes) suite that was previously unavailable in the outgoing Primavera model. Paired with the front disc and rear drum hardware setup, it now promises increased control and safety for its riders.

The chassis remains identical as before and features Vespa’s signature single-arm with helical spring front suspension setup, a double-acting rear shock assembly with pre-load adjustability, not forgetting a set of stylish 12-inch alloy wheels too.

Available in a choice of five new and exciting colour schemes, the 2016 Vespa Primavera ABS is now available for purchase via authorised dealers nationwide with a basic retail price of RM14,888 (without GST).

2016 Vespa Primavera 70th Anniversary
Also launched alongside the uprated Primavera ABS model was its special 70th Anniversary variant. Predictably, this special also gets treated with the special 70th Anniversary paint, custom leather seat and bag plus chrome rear carrier.

Mechanically, it remains identical to the 2016 Primavera ABS model. Vespa Malaysia will offer just 52 units of the 2016 Vespa Primavera 70th Anniversary model to avid fans and collectors, each priced from RM16,488 (without GST).

2016 Vespa Sprint ABS
Launched alongside the uprated Primavera in the updated-for-2016 Vespa Sprint ABS model. This 2016 version of the sporty model with the distinct square headlamp design also gets the same treatment as its sibling the Primavera.

Leading its bill of changes and upgrades here is the same new Piaggio i-Get four-stroke 154.8cc single-cylinder three-valve mill with fuel injection, as well as the addition of ABS to complement its front disc and rear drum anchors – again, a feature previously unavailable in its outgoing predecessor.

The 2016 Vespa Sprint ABS also rolls on a set of stylish 12-inch wheels whilst suspension duties are taken up by Vespa’s signature setup yet again – single-arm helical spring up front with a rear shock offering pre-load adjustability.

Available in a wider choice of seven exciting and new colour schemes, Vespa Malaysia has set a basic retail price of RM15,888 (without GST) for the new 2016 Vespa Sprint ABS model.

2016 Vespa Sprint Adventure
Last but not least comes the official introduction of the limited-run 2016 Vespa Sprint Adventure Model. Based off the uprated 2016 Vespa Sprint ABS, this variant sees the base bike transformed with more rugged adventure-styled aesthetics.

Mechanically, the Sprint Adventure remains identical to its base bike. Instead, this special variant is set apart thanks to the addition of both a front and rear carrier assembly, followed by the addition of a smoked fly-screen unit and an on board USB charging port.

Also setting it apart from the base Sprint is the Adventure two exclusive colour options available – Matt Green and Matt Sand. Vespa Malaysia will offer just 52 units in total, with 26 of which dressed in Matt Green and the remaining 26 in Matt Sand, with each unit carrying a basic selling price of RM17,000 (without GST).

Vespa Malaysia were keen to highlight that it has SOLD OUT all Matt Green units to its dealers and orders for the remaining units in Matt Sand are being taken up fast.
