Inevitably, with the great Massimo Tamburini’s recent passing, some of his works has predictable risen in value with some heading under the gavel later this month in Bonhams auction house.
The famed UK auction firm has got several Tamburini-designed bikes that are destined for auction on the April 27 in Stafford, UK. Here’s what the firm has in its line up.
1. 1975 Bimota HB1
The Bimota HB1 is in fact the first road-going machine penned by the great legend himself. This particular item in the Bonhams collection started out life in kit form, but has since been fully built and features a larger 970cc engine. The item has been mechanically refurbished in 2010, its original patina pristinely restored.
It is widely believed that only 10 HB1s were ever made, making it on one of the planet’s rarest bike in existence. With that, comes a matching price tag as well. Bonhams expect the HB1 to fetch anywhere between £55,000 to £65,000 (RM300,000 to RM350,000).
2. 2005 MV Agusta F4 1000 Agostini
The next item in the list is something less rare, but a gem of the motorcycling world nevertheless. This special edition MV supersports has only got three miles recorded on its odometer, and was never registered. Essentially a showroom-new bike, this F4 is expected to fetch roughly £15,000 to £20,000 (RM81,000 to RM110,000).
3. 2003 MV Agusta F4 750 SPR
Also on Bonhams list is this rare SPR version of the F4 with 146hp instead of 126hp. It may have clocked in just about 7,724 miles, but the fact that it is one of only 300 ever made will see it go under the gavel for about £7,000 to £9,000 (RM38,000 to RM49,000).
If the lone-Bimota and two MVs mentioned above are simply beyond the reach of your chequebook, the auction house also listed three 90s-era Ducati Paso bikes up for grabs. While they may not be the finely-cut gems like the earlier mentioned Bimota and MVs, we reckon these 90s sports bikes will soon become cult classics, and its lower price tags making it a perfect restoration project.
1. 1990 Ducati Paso 906
This one needs some TLC and a little bit of elbow grease vested to transform it into concourse condition, but its estimated price of £900 to £1,200 (RM4,900 to RM6,500) would mean that you don’t have to spend much on the initial investment.
2. 1991 Ducati Paso 907 I.E.
This lovely red-painted example was a later version of the Paso that came equipped with electronic fuel injection. Being in fairly good condition, Bonhams expects it to sell for an estimated £1,200 to £1,500 (RM6,500 to RM8,100).
3. 1994 Ducati Paso 906
This particular bike is in excellent shape, and it features a liquid-cooled version of Ducati’s desmodromic V-twin. Besides the twin-Webber carbs, the features list includes Marzocchi front forks and rear shocks, Brembo brakes, 16-inch wheels, and a six-speed transmission. Given its near-excellent condition, this one will fetch between £1,800 to $2,400 (RM9,800 to RM13,000) at auction.
