SIC MiniGP Championship concludes 2020 maiden season

The 2020 SIC MiniGP Championship concluded its maiden season last weekend where they’ve uncovered some very talented young riders, especially from Terengganu. Both the 110cc and 160cc categories were won by Qabil Irfan and Hakim Danish, both hailing from Terengganu.

Both of these young riders won the championship titles in their respective categories, but what’s even more amazing was the fact that both of them dominated all four races held this season. Finishing strong with a perfect 200 points respectively, you can expect to hear more of them in the years to come.

The SIC MiniGP Championship program showcased to these young talents on what it’s like to go through a season in motorsports with the assistance from the Sepang International Circuit, Ministry of Youth and Sports, MAM Motorsports Association of Malaysia, ZK Racing, and many more.

Through the guidance provided by the great Zulfahmi Khairuddin as well as the many support systems provided by the crew cultivates a sense of professionalism, dedication, and development for these young riders who aspire to become the next big thing in two-wheel motorsports.

With all the support, training, and coaching provided, we can actually see the vast improvements these young talents offer within these four races. From breaking lap records, to going through what’s necessary to become better riders, it’s indeed a wonderful sight to see.

What’s next for SIC MiniGP Championship? As a platform to uncover young talents, the skies are the limit as more exposure and training will be given in the coming years. The next obvious steps for these young talents would be preparing to enter other championships like the Malaysian Cub Prix, MSBK, and who knows, maybe ARRC, CEV Repsol, and onwards to MotoGP.
