A perfect example of how NOT to merge into slow traffic whilst riding in the city.
For many daily riders, one of the biggest challenges of riding in and out of the city is the act safely merging into slower traffic. However, the featured video shows us how NOT to merge into slow traffic.
When you’re just getting off the highway and are about to enter city traffic at a high rate of speed as this rider did with his KTM 390 Duke, the result is usually disaster. In fact, 9 out 10 times, that’s usually the result.
Fortunately, this biker falls in the 1 out of 10 part of that statistic as he avoided – narrowly! – from hitting other cars and even another biker. The rider had barely enough space and time to react, but we can’t stress enough that this could’ve gotten much worst.
This is yet another example of why riders need to stay alert and vigilant whilst riding. The best lesson we can garner out of this is simple: if you see a dense traffic building up ahead, just slow down.
In such situations where it becomes difficult to gauge traffic pace, the best solution is always to slow down. Also, don’t forget to use your mirrors and signal blinkers too, especially in the act of merging into traffic.
Safe ride folks.
