Moto3: Petronas Sprinta Racing ready for 2018!

The Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto3 team has been officially launched yesterday at the Sepang International Circuit.

The whole new partnership between Petronas and SIC has led to the team’s new direction for 2018.

Both Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki are ready to bring the fight to the rest of the Moto3 field.

The Petronas Sprinta Racing team was officially launched yesterday at the Sepang International Circuit. This partnership between SIC and Petronas as the official title sponsor which will run its course for three seasons will start with Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki taking their race-bred Honda Moto3 machinery to podium contentions.

It was only a few months back when the partnership was announce with the hopes of bringing both establishments into greater heights by highlighting Malaysia as a breeding grounds for great racing talents. With proper guidance in mind, both Adam Norrodin and Ayumu Sasaki are ready to take on the 2018 season.

When asked about the partnership, Team Manager Johan Stigefelt stated “It means a lot to be associated with such a high value brand, with whom have already had great success in Formula One. This is the start of a great partnership, so it’s a very exciting time for us all. We will work hard to achieve good results and together I hope we can further our program with Adam and Ayumu in Moto3. I’m very happy and proud to be a part of PETRONAS Sprinta Racing.”.

As for Malaysia’s very own Adam Norrodin, the 19 year old racer commented ““I’m really happy to have PETRONAS Sprinta with us; they are so big and well known in Motorsport, I feel very proud to be sponsored by them and carry their name. I’m excited for this partnership and really looking forward to this year.”

“This is my third season in the Moto3 World Championship, so it’s a very important year for me. I want to be the best I have ever been. I have a lot more confidence and experience now, so I feel ready to give it my all. I want to be regularly in the top ten for myself and the team; I want to be fighting for the podium. I will push to be up there and do everyone proud,” added the number 7 rider.

Ayumu Sasaki is also excited about 2018 regarding to whole new approach and direction. The 2016 Red Bull Rookies Cup champion said “I’m really happy to be part of this family. For me PETRONAS Sprinta is one of the best sponsors; they already sponsor the Champion team in F1, so I want to do my best for them in this Championship. This will be my second year in Moto3 so I will push harder than before; try to stay in the front group and fight for the podium as much as I can.”

The 2018 season will kick things off in Qatar on 18 March 2018 where the boys will duke it out with the rest of the field under the floodlights of the Losail International Circuit. Stay tuned to Bikes Republic for more updates.
