Ducati Panigale Championship Edition launched in SIC

Our friends at Ducati Malaysia (Next Bike Sdn Bhd) held a special ceremony earlier today to welcome its latest addition, the Ducati 1199 Panigale Championship Edition.

The launch took place earlier today at the Sepang Circuit’s welcome centre in conjunction with this weekend’s inaugural World Superbike Championship (WSBK) race event. Present as special guests to introduce the bike into the Malaysian market were Ducati’s SBK project leader Ernesto Marinelli, as well as Ducati SBK riders Chaz Davies and Davide Giugliano.

The inaugural WSBK race in Sepang could not be a more fitting backdrop to introduce the new Panigale variant. The Championship Edition stands as a limited edition version of the Panigale model made exclusively for the Malaysian market only.

Mechanically, it retains the 1,199cc Superquadro L-Twin powerplant, as well as the high tech Ducati multi-mode ride-by-wire system, tri-stage ABS brakes, Ducati Quick Shift, Engine Brake Control, and Ducati Electronic Suspension. The special version come primed with a full Termignoni raching exhaust, smoked winscreen, carbon clutch casing cover, and aluminium mirror blind from Ducati Performance.

Limited to just ten units only, the 199 Panigale Championship Edition retails with a starting price of RM160,888.

Shortly after the launch ceremony, both Davies and Gugliano treated Ducatistas present in the Ducati booth in a meet and greet session, signing their autographs away on various memorabilia items for fans.
