About the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
If you didn’t know already, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride movement began in Sydney, Australia back in 2012. Inspired by a photo of Mad Men star Don Draper riding a classic bike dressed in his finest suit, founder Mark Hawwa decided to use this premise as the ride’s theme.

The main aim of this movement is to raise awareness and funding towards prostate cancer research. The secondary missions here are to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles whilst connecting niche motorcycle communities together.

Last year, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride movement saw 410 cities in 79 countries worldwide participate in its movement. Last year’s ride also successfully raised US$2.3 million in funding for prostate cancer research.

For 2016, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride movement has updated its mission slightly. Besides cancer research, the movement also aims to raise funding towards suicide prevention programs as well.

The movement has also garnered the support from title sponsors Triumph Motorcycles and Zenith Watches. Additionally, donations collected during the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will be channelled to its official charity partner, the Movember Foundation.
