CONFIRMED: 2021 Honda CBR250RR will come to Malaysia!

Boon Siew Honda unveiled its latest 2020 Honda Rebel 500 together with the BSH 250cc Racing Support Programme which will see 10 race-prepped Honda CBR250RR taking part in next year’s Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK). The next logical question would be regarding the arrival of the 2021 Honda CBR250RR production model into the Malaysian market.

After speaking to a few high-ranking officials from BSH, we can now confirm that they will be bringing in the latest model of the Honda CBR250RR at the end of 2020. It will be the latest unit that was previously launched in Japan just a couple of months back and it will be ‘competitively priced’. We’re assuming that would be in the region of below RM30,000.

The latest rendition of the Honda CBR250RR now packs more power with 41hp at 13,000rpm and 25Nm of maximum torque at 11,000rpm. It’s a high-revving boy but to keep things smooth and ‘race-ready’, the production model is now equipped with an assist/slipper clutch. Sweet.

Other noteworthy specs include:

  • Ride-by-Wire throttle
  • Selectable Riding Modes (Sport, Sport+, Comfort)
  • LCD meter display
  • All-round LED lights
  • 37mm USD front forks
  • 310mm front single disc brake (240mm rear) + dual-channel ABS
  • Bi-directional quickshifter (optional)

To date, you can only get the 2021 Honda CBR250RR in certain Asian countries, but rest assured that this beauty will finally make its way onto Malaysian shores very, very soon. Rejoice, Honda fans and enthusiasts and start saving up!
