ALERT: Suzuki GSX-R global recall

We are sure some of you have already heard about the global recall for selected Suzuki GSX-Rs made from 2004 to 2013, but we feel it is necessary  to bring the word to those who have not here on our site.

Suzuki issued a worldwide recall sometime last week, alerting of a possible fault within the GSX-R’s brake master cylinder. This affects ALL GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 models manufactured since 2004, as well as GSX-R1000 models made from the year 2005.

To be more specific, a press statement released by Suzuki UK has detailed the specific model ranges affected:

• GSX-R600 – K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2, and L3 model types

• GSX-R750 – K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2, and L3 model types

• GSX-R1000 – K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L0, L1, L2, and L3 model types

We strongly recommend all BR readers and followers who own Gixxers of the aforementioned model types produced in the years stated to have their bikes checked the soonest possible with your respective mechanics. After all, we at BR only wish everyone would take great efforts towards riding safety, and this as many would know, starts with proper maintenance of your beloved machines. Live free and ride safe. – BR
