2021 Honda CBR150R launched in Thailand – 17.1hp, RM12,480

The 2021 Honda CBR150R has been launched in Thailand where the updates come in the form of four fresh new colours for its local market. As sporty as this ‘babiest’ CBR may look, we’re sorry to disappoint folks that this updated model does not come with USD front forks (but it is preload-adjustable).

What it does get is an exterior design inspired by the previous generation CBR models, the CBR650R. Oddly enough, the front setup looks a lot like the CBR250R and also, the older Kawasaki Ninja 250. You can see this via its front twin headlight setup, which is not exactly the latest look.

Honda decided to retain its 149cc single-cylinder DOHC engine which produces 17.1hp and 14.4Nm of maximum torque. To put things into comparison, the current Honda RS150R V2 produces 15.4hp and 13.6Nm torque, which is not that far off from this full-fairing sports model.

Folks in Thailand can get the updated Honda CBR150R in three different colourways – matt black with red graphics, red with black graphics, and matt black with orange graphics. Well, at least the colours make the bike look pretty great.

The ABS model is priced at 99,700 baht, which is around the RM13,400 mark while the standard model which only comes in black comes in at 92,570 baht, which is around RM12,480. The lower-priced model does not come with ABS.

Will it make its way into the Malaysian market? It’s hard to say considering that Boon Siew Honda is preparing to launch the CBR250RR and ADV 150 in the coming weeks. For now, the only sports model in the 150cc that you can get with decent specs is the Yamaha YZR-R15. Check out our official review in the link, below.
