2020 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard introduced

Harley-Davidson has added their latest model to the Softail segment in the form of the 2020 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard. Designed to be a ‘blank canvas’ or starting point for those who want to jump in the H-D bandwagon, the Softail Standard offers simplistic riding experience with several customising options to fit any individual.

Powered by the 1,750cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin engine producing 150Nm of torque, the new Softail Standard is designed with that iconic Harley-Davidson feel paired with a lean bobber profile and dynamic Softail chassis all into one. Presented in its most ‘elemental’ form the Softail Standard is featured in the classic Vivid Black colour with chrome highlights.

Classic minimalism is the name of the game where new owners can treat it as a project bike starter kit that comes standard with ‘bobber’ like features such as steel spoke wheels finished in chrome (19-inch front, 17-inch rear), mini-ape handlebars, single front headlight, and a single-seat unit that flows with the rear fender.

The H-D Softail chassis has been optimised for stiffness and constructed to be lightweight. This offers a more dynamic handling setup and it’s further enhanced with the addition of a monoshock rear suspension hidden right under the seat (which owners can set its pre-load settings by removing the seat).

The front end is covered with dual bending valve front suspension paired with disc brakes (front and rear) with ABS as an option. This is to help increase the new Softail’s braking performance as well as overall handling.

If you happen to be in the US, you can get your very own 2020 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard at $13,599 (around RM57,673) which makes it one of the most affordable new Harleys in the market. Four different accessory custom packages are also up for grabs to further add your own personal touches to the new bike which are Day Tripper, Coastal, Touring, and Performance. Sweet.
