MotoGP: KTM wants to win the title this year

As stated in the past, KTM had their best year yet in MotoGP last season with a total of three race victories and a handful of podium finishes. This time around, they’re determined to bring the fight for the world championship title with the latest set of riders and updated KTM RC16.

According to KTM’s CEO, Stefan Pierer, “In 2020 we achieved and exceeded our goals. We now have a technical basis that enables several types of riders to win and top positions and for the first time also gives rookies better opportunities, as Brad Binder and Iker Lecuona have shown. Our goal for next year is ready: We want to fight for the world title – and win it if possible.”

Leading the way would be the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing duo, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder. These are the same riders who gave KTM three wins last season, and Tech3 will also be contributing to this grand effort with Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona.

Petrucci’s involvement with KTM will also some more vital experience from the Ducati camp, and paired with Dani Pedrosa’s Repsol Honda knowledge and know-how, other manufacturers should see KTM as a major threat to whatever they plan to accomplish in 2021 and beyond.

It’s not going to be easy, but we feel that KTM is at its strongest form yet and all they need is to do a little tinkering to make everything work in its place. Rest assured that other manufacturers will be doing the same thing, and 2021 will be a more interesting year compared to last season.
