If you’re already missing all the thrills and spills from last weekend’s Moto3 race, miss no more because Round 3 is happening this weekend at the same track. The Andalucía GP sets the stage for the Petronas Sprinta Racing to redeem themselves after a heart-breaking finish during last Sunday’s race.
Both their riders, John McPhee and Khairul Idham Pawi, have something to prove this weekend. With 20 points under his belt, McPhee plans to bring the heat this Sunday after falling out from last weekend’s race after exiting the very last corner of the very last lap.

Currently sitting third in the championship, the 26-year-old Irish rider is one of the strong contenders for the 2020 Moto3 crown. Several riders stand in his way but none more so than the championship leader, Albert Arenas (Gaviota Aspar Team Moto3) who has won the first two opening races.
According to McPhee himself, “Obviously I’m very disappointed with the result from last weekend and with such a short season it’s a big punishment to not score points. We can’t dwell on it though and we have to focus on the next opportunity. The best thing about this situation is that I get to try again this weekend.”
“I have a lot of positive feedback and data from the race to work with. The main thing that I need to improve is the start. My rhythm was good, my speed was good, the feeling with the bike was good. The only problem was that I went backwards at the start. I want to manage that better this weekend and have a great race,” added McPhee.
As for Khairul Idham Pawi aka “Super KIP”, “For this next race, I need to improve myself and some things with the bike. We struggled in the fast corners and lost time there, so this is something we need to work on and improve.”
“Last weekend we didn’t find the best solution, but we’re racing at the same circuit this weekend so we have a lot of data to use. Hopefully, this weekend will be better and we can make some progress,” added KIP.
This Sunday’s (July 26th) Moto3 race will start at 5.00 pm local time, followed by Moto2 at 6.20 pm and MotoGP at 8.00 pm. Want something a little bit ‘eco-friendly’? Catch MotoE at 4.05 pm which will also take place this Sunday!
