Moto2: Jorge Martin tested positive for COVID-19

The San Marino MotoGP round is happening this weekend and unfortunately, two individuals from the paddock have tested positive for COVID-19. One of them is the 2020 Moto2 title contender, Jorge Martin (Red Bull KTM Ajo).

This news has been confirmed by his team as well as Jorge Martin himself on his official Instagram page. Both Jorge Martin and the other unnamed mechanic from a different team were said to be asymptomatic and are currently going through isolation.

Due to this, Jorge Martin won’t be able to compete this weekend and that’ll definitely set him back in his glory for the Moto2 championship crown. Currently tied for second with 79 points, he’s on a strong pace to fight for this season’s title against the likes of Luca Marini, Enea Bastianini, Tetsuga Nagashima, and other riders.
