Local Aprilia custodians Didi Resources Sdn Bhd expanded its line up today by launching two new models. We’ll start with the biggest of the two, which happens to be the new 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 middleweight off-road adventure bike.

The second model launched alongside it is the 2022 Aprilia SR GT scooter. You can read our launch report of which by clicking here.

Aptly, the Tuareg 660 is the off-road capable offshoot of the Aprilia 660-series platform. Like the RS660 and Tuono 660, the Tuareg packs the same liquid-cooled 659cc parallel-twin heart that delivers 80HP and 70NM to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission that primed with a slipper clutch.

Said powertrain is encased within a steel chassis construction featuring aluminium engine connection plates. Altogether, the Tuareg 660’s claimed kerb weight figure stands at 204KG.

Tasked with suspension duties are a pair of 43mm upsidedown (USD) KYB front fork and rear monoshock, both offering 240mm of travel. Brakes come courtesy of Brembo twin 300mm front discs plus a 260mm rotor at the rear, the former grabbed by dual-piston floating calipers.

Like its sports and streetfighter sibling, the Tuareg 660 packs the latest and greatest electronic rider aids available within Aprilia’s – read: Piaggio Group’s – arsenal. Highlights include four selectable ride modes, traction control, engine braking control, adaptive cruise control, and a multi-map ABS suite.

Other key highlights include all-LED lighting, a sizeable 18-litre fuel tank, off road-ready 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire spoked wheels wrapped in tubeless off-road tyres, not forgetting a fully digital dash display suite too.

Following today’s launch, Didi Resources Sdn Bhd says orders for the 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 can now be placed with authorised dealers nationwide with a special introductory price of RM75,900.
