Jorge Lorenzo gets first top 4 finish since 2018…in singing?

It has a topsy turvy couple of years for three-time MotoGP world champion, Jorge Lorenzo, but that doesn’t mean that he’s not enjoying his ‘retirement’ life after ending his racing career last season. For the first time since 2018, Lorenzo finally got his first top 4 finish but not in something he’s known for.

A popular singing tv show/contest called The Masked Singer which originated from South Korea currently has several renditions in several countries, including Spain. For those who don’t know, a group of mysterious singers dressed in wacky costumes that hide their identities sing for the win each week.

Celebrities from all walks of life enter the contest, but the 2020 Spanish version saw a very interesting turn of event when the ‘Crow’ character lost in the semi-finals and each loser will have to reveal his or her identity (while the ‘judges’ try to guess who they are throughout the show as part of the appeal).

When the Crow was finally unmasked, Jorge Lorenzo emerged where judges applauded his singing prowess as ‘a unique and unforgettable experience’. Throughout the season, Lorenzo performed renditions of popular songs like Dire Straits’ ‘Walk of Life’ and many more.

What else can we say about 2020 apart from it being weird, wild, and crazy. Can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for all of us.

A passionate individual when it comes to anything related to two wheels (or sometimes more), he enjoys the chaotic and magical world of motorsports as much as riding leisurely to the shops on his beloved Vespa. With an education-based background, he is always eager to learn and share about the poetic arts of motorcycling.
