Honda and Forever 21 releases F21xHonda clothing line

Honda Powersports US has collaborated with Forever 21 in coming up with a brand new clothing line called the F21xHonda collection.

The motorsport-branded fashion items are based on the glory days of Honda racing back in the late 80s and 90s.

Although the partnership was unexpected, Honda is known for their amazing strategies in marketing campaigns dating back to the 1960s.

With fashion today rapidly growing into something that is getting mixed perceptions, there’s no doubt that it is one of the biggest businesses each and every year. So it comes as no surprise (well, maybe a bit surprised) when American Honda hooked up with Forever 21 to create a modern clothing line for today’s youths based on the late 80s and early 90s motorcycle scene called F21xHonda collection.

According to Mike Snyder, Senior Manager of Honda Powersports Marketing, “Honda’s motorcycle racing success in the ’80s and ’90s was legendary, with our riders earning many championships in domestic and international series. While we’re focused on winning with our current teams, it’s fun to see our racing heritage honoured by Forever 21 with a completely new audience.”

When asked about the partnership between Honda and Forever 21, Linda Chang who is the VP of Marketing for Forever 21 commented that “”We are so excited to announce our partnership with Honda for this ’80s and ’90s inspired collection. We are always looking for new and unexpected partnerships, and this collaboration with Honda is especially relevant now with the popularity of racing and strong ties between fashion and motorsport. We hope that both fans of Honda and our customers will celebrate with us through this collection.”

This was made successful thanks to Honda’s brand management agency in the US, Earthbound. Honda is well-known for their super effective marketing campaigns since the mid 1960s where their slogan “You meet the nicest people on a Honda”. That ultimately changed how people perceived motorcyclists and drew in some big money for the company.

Their latest endeavour to promote the brand to today’s younger generation is using social media as their main weapon. Through Instagram, the contest revolves around Instagrammers posting photos wearing the clothing line and the best will take home a brand new Honda CRF250L!

We’re guessing that the contest is only open for US citizens but if you would like to know more, follow Honda Powersports US and Forever 21 on Instagram or search for the hashtags #F21xHonda and #F21Contest.
