FIRST LOOK: 2020 Aprilia RS-GP MotoGP bike

The first sessions of the MotoGP Sepang shakedown test have begun, and the internet is already buzzing with photos of the 2020 Aprilia RS-GP MotoGP bike debuting here in Malaysia. The Italian manufacturer is looking to stir things up with a host of upgrades and changes which will hopefully see them higher up the grid in the upcoming season.

One of the biggest changes that Aprilia will be bringing in is a brand new 90° V4 engine, which has been proven to be most beneficial for Honda and Ducati. For most fans, the photos suggest that the 2020 Aprilia RS-GP has undergone a lot of cosmetic change to improve their game in the aerodynamics department.

It seems that Aprilia is serious in getting some good results with reports of the Italian manufacturer hiring engineers from the likes of Suzuki, Ducati and even car manufacturers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and BMW.

With the doping issues currently side-lining one of their star riders, Andrea Iannone, the Sepang shakedown test and Winter Test will be spearheaded by Aleix Espargaro together with Bradley Smith and WorldSBK’s Lorenzo Savadori.

Hopefully, Aprilia will be able to achieve some positive results consistently with all of these big (and most probably expensive) changes in their MotoGP efforts.
