Bell MX-9 MIPS Rally gets RSD treatment

RSD gives its stylish touch to the Bell MX-9 MIPS Rally lid.

  • Latest addition to Bell’s existing RSD collaboration line up.

  • Sports plenty of retro racing design goodness.

  • Still a budget-friendly lid that punches above its weight.

American helmet manufacturer Bell sees its long-standing collaboration with Roland Sands Design (RSD) continues to produce stylish lids. The latest drop from which sees the famed bike racer turned designer give his take of the Bell MX-9 MIPS Rally lid.

At a glance, the Bell MX-9 MIPS series of off-road and dirt-focused helmets have already charted its place in the market as one of best budget-friendly offerings in its segment that doesn’t skimp on protection – the latter thanks to the adoption of MIPS into its polycarbonate shell design.

Whilst Bell already offers a vibrant range of colours and graphics to the MX-9 MIPS Rally range, the latest inclusion of this RSD special just adds a little more flavour.

According to both Bell and RSD, the bright tri-colour scheme is a homage to racing liveries of the past – BMW’s glory days at the Dakar comes to mind. Aligning with that, Bell also paired the color block design with a checkered flag graphics on the chin bar, retro RSD logos on the sides and crown, as well as a set of Dunlop, K&N and Motul brand logos – longtime supporters of RSD.

Apart from that, this is essentially the same Bell MX-9 MIPS Rally lid that many will be familiar with. Notable features include an adjustable peak, Bell’s proprietary Velocity Flow ventilation, removable and washable antimicrobial liner, plus a range of three shell sizes covering XS to XXXL size ranges.

Retailing through Bell’s and RSD websites now, the Bell MX-9 MIPS Rally RSD carries an RRP of US$194.95 (approx. RM819.17).
