Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia is ready to kick things off in 2020 with a bang by introducing four new bikes for the Malaysian market. What you’re looking at are the 2020 Triumph Thruxton RS, Triumph Rocket 3 R, and the Triumph Rocket 3 GT.
2020 Triumph Thruxton RS – RM86,900
Unveiled late last year at EICMA 2019, the 2020 Triumph Thruxton RS is an updated combination of a bike that possesses great looks and state-of-the-art riding aids. Hiding within its sports-dedicated chassis is the famous Triumph 1,200cc parallel-twin engine that produces a stunning 104hp at 7,500rpm and 112Nm of maximum torque plus 20% inertia reduction.
The overall riding experience and character have been further enhanced by shedding 10kg from the predecessor, 8hp more power, and the addition of a set of fully-adjustable Showa BPF front forks, fully-adjustable Ohlins rear suspension package, radial Brembo M50 four-piston monobloc callipers, Metzeler Racetec RR tyres, upgraded riding modes, and updated styling.
The new Thruxton RS embodies the brand’s history in racing combined with the latest technology and superior engine combination that is undeniably exhilarating to ride, no matter what type of rider you are. Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia has priced this beauty at RM86,900 (excluding road tax & insurance).
2020 Triumph Rocket 3 R & Rocket 3 GT – From RM130,900
Want massive firepower? Look no further than the bike with the biggest production engine in the world, the 2020 Triumph Rocket 3. Available in two variants, future owners can choose on either outright performance where you can rip it out in the track or eat up those miles on those long voyages across the country.
Highly regarded as the ultimate muscle roadster, the Triumph Rocket 3 R possesses a 2,500cc inline-three, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that produces 165hp at 6,000rpm and 221Nm of gut-wrenching torque. Its 0-60mph time? Only 2.73 seconds. That’s less than three seconds for the Rocket 3 to reach 100km/h!
Compared to its predecessor, the new Rocket 3 R is lighter and more agile thanks to a few additions to its overall chassis package. Apart from cutting down weight, the Rocket 3 R is also fitted with Showa 47mm USD front forks, fully adjustable rear Showa piggyback reservoir RSU, Brembo M4.30 Stylema four-piston callipers, cornering ABS, high-performance six-speed helical cut gearbox and many more. In other words, you can travel fast down the drag strip and also kick a few butts in the corners. Best of both worlds.
If a more laid-back cruiser is your cup of tea, the 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 GT might be the one for you with its ‘supreme touring capability’. Planning to go on a long-distance trip with your significant other? Go for the GT.
The GT essentially has everything the R has to offer and more with comfortable seats for both rider and pillion set down low, high-adjustable pillion backrest, extended fly screen, heated grips (you’ll love them during those rainy days), adjustable riding ergonomics, and large 19-litre fuel tank.
Two very lucky individuals who also attended tonight’s festivities to receive their very own ultra special and rare 2020 Triumph Rocket TFC (Triumph Factory Custom). Only 750 units were made for global consumption and as expected, all of them are completely sold out!
Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia has priced the new 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT at RM130,900 and RM136,900 respectively (prices excluding road tax, insurance and registration).
