2020 BMW F 900 R & F 900 XR launched in Malaysia – From RM62,500

BMW Motorrad Malaysia has updated its current line-up of premium bikes with the introduction of the 2020 BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR. The addition of the new models in the Roadster and Adventure ranges showcase the increasing popularity of the brand’s mid-range two-wheelers in the country.

Knowing that performance and pure riding fun sit at the heart of every BMW Motorrad motorcycles, we are thrilled to kick-off a new year with two new models: the New BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR, both intelligently designed for the ultimate riding thrill.”

Owen Riley, Head of BMW Motorrad Malaysia, meanwhile said, “The New BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR arrive with the latest in motorcycling innovation, as we develop motorcycles that perfectly combine both best-in-class performance and technology for a remarkable riding experience. Both models introduced today will display the highest quality of workmanship, down to the finest detail.”

Available in Style Sport, the 2020 BMW F 900 R comes with a sporty yet active seating package. Customers have the choice between San Marino Blue Metallic and Style Sport (Hockenheim Silver metallic/Racing Red) and both look amazing.

As for the F 900 XR, the Style Exclusive colourway offers a combination of Galvanic Gold Metallic and Granite Grey Metallic Matt, especially for the mid-range tourer. Distinguishing itself from the F 900 R are handguards, adjustable windshield, centre stand and suitcase holder courtesy of BMW Motorrad Accessories.

Both the 900 integrates the steel bridge frame that’s enhanced with USD telescopic front fork and double-sided swinging arm with central suspension strut, plus a 13-litre fuel tank (15.5 litres for the XR). What lies inside is the money shot; an 895cc two-cylinder in-line engine with 105hp at 8,750rpm and 92Nm of max torque at 6,500rpm.

Smoothness is the name of the game for both the BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR with the additions of two opposed counterweight shafts, anti-hopping clutch, engine drag torque control (MSR), and the optional Shift Assistant Pro for smooth clutchless shifts.

Both the new BMW Motorrad Malaysia models will arrive at authorised showrooms nationwide starting tomorrow (29 Feb 2020) with price tags of RM 62,500 for the F 900 R and RM69,500 for the F 900 XR (OTR prices without insurance).
