• 88 Ducati Panigales attended the gathering in Putrajaya, Malaysia

Last Sunday marked the first ever mega gathering for 2017 organized by the Panigale Kingdom motorcycle club. A total of 88 Ducati Panigale of different models attended the event which was held at the Putrajaya Lake Club (Kelab Tasik Putrajaya).

As the name goes, the club is only for those who own one of Ducati’s most premium sports bikes of all time, the Ducati Panigale. Ever since its inception back in 2011, the Panigale was considered as the replacement for the outgoing but still highly sought after Ducati 1198. The first model that came out in 2011 was the 1199 Panigale. The club consists of different models of the famous Ducati from the 1199 to the brand new 959.

When the 1199 was released, it was the most powerful production twin-cylinder engine that produced a whopping 195hp and 133Nm of torque. At a wet weight of just 193kg, the 1199 can propel itself from 0 to 100km/h in just under three seconds. Keep the throttle open and you will reach 230km/h within 10 seconds and with enough tarmac, the 1199 will reach 286km/h in no time at all.

There are a lot of different models for the 1199 but the most sought after is the R version. Those with deep pockets and fat wallets can have a taste how the boys over at WorldSBK race in the circuits with the R model. Currently, Chaz Davies and Marco Melandri are piloting the 1199 Panigale R with the Aruba.it Racing outfit in the WorldSBK.

In 2013, Ducati introduced the 899 Panigale or also known as the baby of Panigale. The 899 offers a smaller package compared to the 1199 but will still reach blistering speeds in replacement of the outgoing 848 model.
