Naza Prestige Bikes Sdn Bhd, the official Malaysian importer and distributor for Harley-Davidson motorcycles launched two new model for the market today the 2016 Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 and Forty-Eight.

Both models were introduced to press during a press introduction held in the firm’s flagship Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur (H-DKL) showroom in Petaling Jaya. Both the new Iron 883 and Forty-Eight models have been revised for 2016, and are part of the Sportster-based Dark Custom model.

Firstly, the 2016 Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 bobber is powered by H-D’s signature air-cooled 883cc Evolution V-twin engine. Equipped with an Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection suite, the mill develops a peak torque figure of 71Nm @ 3,750rpm.

Notable features here include a blacked-out floating front disc brake, black-painted nine-spoke cast aluminium wheels with machined highlights plus a pillion seat to match the tuck-and-roll seat upholstery.

The most crucial update here lie in the suspension setup, which enhanced for the 2016 model. The Iron 883 is suspended by a pair of cartridge-style forks up front whilst the rear gets a pair of new emulsion rear shock absorbers with progressive-rate springs and a threaded pre-load adjustment collar.

Forty-eight

The 2016 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight, on the other hand, boasts more muscular stance as a custom cruiser. It also gets a larger and more powerful 1,202cc version of the air-cooled Evolution V-twin engine to match its stance as well. With a peak torque generation of 96Nm @ 3,500rpm, the Forty-Eight stands as the most powerful amongst the two.
The Forty-Eight also has some eye-catching horizontal stripes donning its tank, which is also repeated in the seat stitching, slotted exhaust shields, rear sprocket and belt guard. Also new here in this updated 2016 model is its lightweight cast aluminium alloy wheels that features a black-painted finish and machined highlights.

Like the Iron 883, the most crucial revision in the 2016 Forty-Eight is its suspension setup. Besides a pair of 49mm cartridge front forks, the Forty-Eight also gains with a pair of emulsion rear shock absorbers with progressive-rate springs and a threaded pre-load adjustment collar.

Each model is offered with a choice of four colour options with prices starting from RM89,000* for the Harley-Davidson Sportster and RM106,000* for the Forty-Eight (*prices include GST). Also included in these prices are H-DKL’s offer of a five-year warranty, two and a half-year free service plus one year free Harley-Davidson Owners Group (HOG) assist plan.
