Kawasaki Motors Malaysia 2014 CBU Ride

Over the weekend about 30 Kawasaki bike owners joined the Kawasaki Motors Malaysia (KMM) 2014 CBU ride.

The three day program took the riders close to 900km round trip from KMM headquarters in Glenmarie, Shah Alam to Johor Baharu, back up on the east coast side to Rompin, then Kuantan and finally back to Kuala Lumpur.

The bikes in the ride consist of CBU units by KMM, a Z100, a Versys 1000, a few Ninja 1000 and a few superports while a majority were on the GTR 1400.

The first part of the journey was a straight forward ride with 340km covered all the way down to Johor Baharu to New York Hotel. Riders had a free and easy time after they arrived and checked in.

The next day was the real highlight as the riders gets to ride some of the best road down south from Johor Baharu to Rompin Beach Resort in Kuala Rompin, just 190km away.

The day started a bit later as the riders rolled out of the hotel towards Rompin. As soon as they cleared the town the roads opens up with very few traffic on it.

But before checking in to the resort, the group took a slight detour to the main Rompin to Segamat junction where they feasted to the famous prawns Rompin is famous for.

Settling into the resort, the bikers took some rest before dinner time arrives where KMM had planned a few group games for the bikers including lucky draw session.

On the next day, the last part of the trip, the bikers rode northwards to Pekan through more scenic route some close enough to the beach to enjoy the sight of the South China Sea.

After a nice serving of rojak and cendol near the waterfront, a local speciality, they continued on to Kuantan, then to Temerloh for a quick lunch and ending the ride after the Karak toll.
