2018 Ducati Panigale V4 catches fire in Canada

One particular 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 caught on fire last week in Vancouver, Canada.

The cause is unknown but the rider was riding normally on city streets when the bike was engulfed in flames.

Ducati North America has responded quickly and inspections are currently underway to ensure that this was only one isolated case.

Some worrying news has surfaced itself just recently about one of the most highly-regarded superbikes in the modern era. The technologically-marvelled 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 is all about being the best of the best but one particular machine in Canada was a bit too ‘hot’ to handle.

Based on a report posted by Motorcycle.com, one Ducati Panigale V4 owner in Vancouver, Canada which goes by the name of Nitrouz (a member of DucatiForum.com), recently suffered a horrible tragedy when his brand new Ducati Panigale V4 caught on fire while riding in the street just last week.

Most superbike owners no matter the brand or manufacturer will know about the heat the engines can generate but it’s very unlikely that the heat is strong enough to turn the bike into a huge ball of flame. Unfortunately for Nitrouz, riding on busy streets at moderate speeds somehow led to the fire in which Ducati was quick to respond and provide assurance for the new Ducati owner.

The rider was riding normally on 15 March 2018 when he smelled something burning and was horrified when he looked down and saw flames spitting out (and not the good one that usually comes out from the exhaust pipes).  The rider quickly pulled over before the bike was completely drowned in the fire. Luckily, no one was harmed during the incident.

Ducati North America responded quickly to the owner where they have promised a brand new bike (plus sympathies) to the owner. Nitrouz was thankful for how fast Ducati reconciled the situation in the best possible way. Kudos to Ducati North America for such a fine job.

As for the Ducati Panigale V4, inspections are currently underway and we hope that this is just one isolated case. Orders are piling up for the new Panigale V4 and it’ll be officially launched in the coming months here in Malaysia.
