2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse introduced

The 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse is one of the bikes introduced earlier today during the 2018 Ducati World Premiere.

The 959 Panigale Corse features all-round Ohlins suspension package, MotoGP-inspired livery and a beautiful titanium Akrapovic slip-on exhaust.

While there’s no news on the pricing, we’re sure that it’ll be slightly above the RM100,000 mark once it reaches here in Malaysia.

As promised by Ducati for their 2018 World Premiere, they have pulled the covers off their 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse. This very special version Ducati middleweight superbike comes with a host of different upgrades to further elevate the style as well as substance of the 959.

The first major highlight of the 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale Corse is the paint works. The livery taken from the manufacturer’s MotoGP machine (minus all the sponsors’ stickers) compliments all the lines and overall shape of the 959. Beneath all the new makeup hides a number of updates that’ll excite any Ducati fan.

The latest 959 Panigale has caught the ‘gold fever’ thanks to a set of Ohlins all-round suspension package which comprises of a front Ohlins NIX30 43mm forks and a rear Ohlins TTX36 shock. To further improve the overall riding experience, the 949 Panigale Corse also comes with an Ohlins adjustable steering damper.

Our favourite upgrade of course is the new Akrapovic titanium exhaust which unfortunately is just a slip-on. Still, it’s a welcomed change compared to the stock option which has brought mixed feelings in the design department. It would have been nicer if there pipes were slightly shorter but we can’t argue with the exhaust gods from Akrapovic.

The new 959 Panigale Corse is also lighter compared to the stock model with a difference of around 2.5kg thanks to the Akrapovic slip-on plus a lithium-ion battery. This in turn improves the overall power-to-weight ratio with the 959 Panigale pushing out a respectable 157hp at 10,500rpm and 107Nm of maximum torque at 9,000rpm from its 955cc Superquadro: L-twin cylinder, 4-valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled engine.

Standard electronic features are still available such as Riding Modes, Power Modes, DQS (Ducati Quick Shifter), Ride-by-Wire, DDA+ Ready (Data Analyzer), ABS, DTC (Ducati Traction Control), EBC (Engine Brake Control) to name a few.

While we’re not sure on the pricing just yet, we’re confident that it’ll surpass the RM100,000 mark as the standard version is on sale in Malaysia at RM99,999 (basic price with GST). To know more on the standard 2017 Ducati 959 Panigale, CLICK HERE.
