The atmosphere was indeed tense, especially between battling Yamaha teammates Rossi and Lorenzo. Rossi has the opportunity to clinch this year’s title in Sepang this weekend, but he will face still opposition from teammate and title rival Lorenzo.

However, one should also not discount soon to be de-throned world champion Marquez’ intent at spoiling the rivalry. Marquez did just that in the previous round held in Australia whilst his Repsol Honda teammate, Dani Pedrosa, did the same two round earlier in Japan.

Also under pressure this weekend is Danny Kent. The Brit has a very strong chance at clinching the world Moto3 title this weekend should he not suffer the same fate as he did in the last two rounds.

Ducati’s Andrea Iannone, on the other hand, also expressed his keen intent earlier today at putting on another stellar performance as he did in Australia.
