Remember last year’s MotoGP round in Austria? It was the 11th round of the season where Jorge Lorenzo performed brilliantly throughout the race leading the first 11 laps before crossing the chequered flag in fourth. All eyes were on him and his Ducati Desmosedici GP17 which looked brilliant with his devil-inspired Shark Race-R Pro.
Now, Shark Helmets has released a limited run of the said helmet which has been dubbed the Shark Race-R Pro Replica Lorenzo Austrian GP MAT. It might be a mouthful for most of us but it has been nicknamed “El Diablo” for easy referencing.
It features an aggressive combination of red and black colour schemes with the devil as its main graphics inspiration (hence the nickname). The replica is following the theme of Jorge Lorenzo himself and his move to Ducati where he changed his racing number design with devil horns on both the 99 numbers compared to the previous halo and devil horns.
There are only 1,500 units available around the world and luckily for Malaysians, there are some available at the Spartan Concept Store located in Bandar Sunway. Priced at RM3,675 (price before discount), the Shark Race-R Pro Lorenzo replica comes with a matching helmet dust cover, a “Dark Smoke” tinted anti-scratch/anti-fog visor, a pair of Skull Rider ‘JL99’ sunglasses and sponsor stickers.
Designed to be lightweight, stable, comfortable, and aerodynamic, the Race-R Pro is constructed using carbon aramid fibre with impressive levels of shock absorbance. Weighing in at only 1,250grams, it features a flat class 1 optic visor, double D buckle, double rear spoilers, multiple ventilation points, and many more.
