Harley-Davidson confirms 100 New Models + One Electric Bike!

Harley-Davidson has announced that they will be launching around 100 new models in the next 10 years including a production electric motorcycle.

According to Bill Davidson, the new electric cruiser will have the same audible characteristics as their petrol-powered engines that make them unique and iconic.

The great-grandson of the H-D’s founder also stated that they will be releasing an entire range of electric bikes as part of their 100 new models in the coming decade.

According to a report made by Autoblog.com, Harley-Davidson has finally confirmed that they will be coming up with at least 100 new models in their latest 10-year plan which includes manufacturing an all-electric production bike.

It was only three years ago when Harley-Davidson introduced the inspiring Livewire prototype bike to the world but the joyous occasion was short-lived when they announced that the Livewire won’t go into production. Instead, the electric-powered Harley went on a world tour as part of the company’s ‘Project Livewire Experience Tour’.

The tour was to help showcase the idea of a Harley-Davidson being powered by nothing but electricity. The tour was also done to gain valuable feedback from a number of riders, enthusiasts and other motoring experts in the field. After a few years of obtaining useful data, it won’t be long before we’ll see an all-electric production bike from Harley-Davidson.

According to Bill Davidson, Harley-Davidson Museum President and also the great-grandson of the company’s founder William Davidson, the overall soundtrack of this upcoming electric cruiser plays a significant role in development. It was stated that the electric bike will also feature the same iconic sound of H-D’s petrol-powered engines.

“We have studied our competitors, and we understand what they are up to, and we did not want a normal-sounding electric motorcycle. We wanted something that plays into that look and sound formula. It is something really cool. I often refer to it as sounding like a jet fighter.”

He also stated that it won’t be just one particular electric bike but an entire range to be featured as part of their 100 models in the coming decade. It looks like the future of Harley-Davidson is brighter than ever.
