Kawasaki Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KMSB) has officially introduced their latest generation 250cc sports bike that is the 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250. The new Ninja 250 was officially launched at the Art of Speed Malaysia 2018 currently happening at MAEPS Serdang.

In the world of 250cc sports bike segment which is getting more and more competitive by the day, the all-new Ninja 250 comes with a brand new design inspired by many of its bigger and more powerful siblings. Elements from the WorldSBK championship-winning Ninja ZX-10R to the highway-eating ZX-14R, every single aspect of the new Ninja 250 has been redesigned from the ground up.

Starting from the front, its all-new twin LED headlights give a more aggressive and improved illumination for the rider which is housed inside a newly-designed front fairing. The 2018 Ninja 250 looks menacingly powerful and fast even at a standstill.

To further elevate its big bike appeal, the same panel instrument used on the Kawasaki Ninja 650 is integrated into Kawasaki’s latest 250cc offering which includes a digital speedometer, traditional tachometer, and gear indicator for ease of riding in and out of the track.

Powered by a brand-new 249cc, twin-cylinder, eight-valve, DOHC engine, the new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 is able to produce a whopping 38.2hp at 12,500rpm and 23.5Nm of maximum torque upon hitting 10,000rpm. All this power is transferred down to its rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox enhanced with Kawasaki’s assist and slipper clutch for ease of riding.

Other highlighted aspects include:

  • Reworked radiator fan cover that helps to divert hot air away from the rider
  • Reworked downdraft intake for improved performance
  • Rear LED light inspired by the ZX-10R
  • Improved riding ergonomics for better all-round comfort
  • 164kg (wet weight)
  • 14-litre fuel tank
  • Front 310mm single semi-floating disc brake with 2-piston caliper
  • Rear 220mm single disc brake with 2-piston caliper
  • 41mm telescopic front forks

The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 will arrive at showrooms across the country sometime in the middle of August at RM23,071.10 (basic price with 0% GST). Two colours will be available which are:
