The retro-modern motorcycle combines tradition, myth and passion that encompass the true spirit of Benelli with contemporary style, innovation and performance. The design alone is a balance between smooth lines and sharp forms as how they have taken a classic design into the modern era. The whole Leoncino 500 is packaged around a steel trellis frame that has been designed for high levels of versatility and manoeuvrability.
Powered by a 500cc, twin-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, the Benelli Leoncino 500 is said to produce around 47hp at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque. This was achieved thanks to the use of double overhead cams (DOHC) together with four valves dedicated to each cylinder. All the power and torque from the fuel-injected power plant is transferred to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox with a hydraulic clutch mechanism linked to a final chain drive.
The whole ‘scrambler’ look is tied together with wire-spoked wheels; 19-inch for the front and 17-inch for the rear. The iconic lion of Pesaro is also clearly embedded on the seat and fuel tank together with modern-day techs such as ABS, digital instrumentation and all-round LED lights.
Although we are not really sure when the bike will actually arrive or the final price itself, we know that the same bike in India costs around 450,000 Rupees, which is around RM30,473 after direct conversion. Stay tuned to Bikes Republic for more updates regarding the Benelli Leoncino 500.
