Castrol awards local mechanics ‘unsung heroes’

If there’s ever a profession that requires way more recognition than it deserves, it’s a mechanic. That’s why Castrol Malaysia organised the ‘Hari Mekanik Malaysia’ campaign to honour these experts in automotive maintenance with the Castrol Unsung Heroes award.

Hailing from all parts of Malaysia, these mechanics from both the cars/trucks and motorcycle automotive segments were supposed to celebrate their night of glory back in March but due to COVID-19, the event had to be cancelled.

According to Castrol Malaysia and Singapore Marketing Director, Keow Mei-Shan, “The opportunity to celebrate the unsung heroes of Malaysia means a great deal to us at Castrol, however, the safety of the Malaysian public remains as our main priority at this moment. Our 20 award winners from the campaign is a reflection of our efforts in appreciating as well as motivating mechanics in the automotive industry. We look forward to creating more avenues focused on celebrating the community in the near future.”

All 20 Castrol Unsung Heroes mechanics were gifted with Castrol certificates, Hari Mekanik Malaysia trophies, and official Castrol merchandise. This particular program was also conducted to raise awareness and promote appreciation of the work and contribution of mechanics. Head over to www.castrol.com/my to know more.
