MV Agusta F3 800 revealed

Italian sports bike makers MV Agusta have revealed their latest creation, the F3 800. Essentially, it is the 800cc version of its F3 675 released in 2011, utilising the same 798cc three-cylinder powerplant available in the Rivale and Brutale 800 models.

The engine in the F3 800 has been turned to produce roughly 146hp and 88Nm of torque thanks largely to the 8.4mm longer stroke. The bike has the same dry weight of 175kg as the F3 675 version and is set to rival itself against Suzuki’s GSX-R750 and the Ducati 848 Evo.

As previously reported, the F3 800 will come fully equipped with ride-by-wire, traction control, an electronic air-bleed system, and variable power maps from the MVICS electronics package. It also features Brembo monobloc calipers, electronically assisted shifts (EAS), fully adjustable Marzocchi forks, a Sachs rear shock, and a slipper clutch system for its transmission.

MV Agusta promises for the F3 800 to have ‘the exhilaration of a 1000cc Superbike with the handling of a 600cc Supersport, and the torque of a v-twin and the rev limit of a four-cylinder.’ Three paintjob options are available and the bike is expected to carry a UK starting price of £12,000 (RM 58,790.40) when it arrives in UK dealerships next month.
