Triumph Motorcycles is renaming the Street Twin and Street Scrambler models for 2023.

  • Triumph renamed the Street Twin and Street Scrambler to Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900.
  • The name change is to follow the same pattern as the Tiger 900 and Tiger 1200.

The alleged report came out in May this year, but the latest development has confirmed that the British firm will rename them Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900, respectively.

Triumph revealed the name change via the 2023 online Owner Handbook Library.

The handbook officially refers to the Street Twin and the Street Scrambler as Speed Twin 900, Speed Twin 1200 and Scrambler 900.

Below is the comparison between the 2022 owners handbook and the 2023 owners handbook:

Despite the name change, the Speed Twin 900/1200 and Scrambler 900 remain identical with the 2022 model year.

Moreover, the new names allow Triumph to streamline the existing range by following the same pattern the firm established with the Tiger 900 and Tiger 1200.

Triumph Motorcycles has announced it has acquired kids electric bike builder OSET.

  • Founded in OSET has sold over 40,000 bikes worldwide.
  • OSET specializes in electric dirt bikes for kids.

According to Triumph, the deal allows both companies to share their expertise and grow internationally together.

OSET was established in 2004 by Ian Smith, who wanted to build an electric dirt bike for his son, Oliver.

After moving to a new UK headquarters in East Sussex from America in 2010, OSET has sold more than 40,000 bikes globally by developing an in-house electric powertrain.

Meanwhile, the latest acquisition by Triumph comes just ahead of the anticipated launch of the company’s motocross and enduro range.

“The acquisition of OSET sits within Triumph’s strategy of entering the off-road segment.

“We are excited about the opportunity of joining forces with OSET Bikes: a dynamic brand that has been encouraging children into motorcycling for many years and have been at the forefront of developing electric trials bikes for fun and competition,” said Nick Bloor, Triumph CEO.

Meanwhile, Smith has assured that the OSET brand will remain as it is despite the acquisition by Triumph.

“The OSET brand will remain as OSET and will continue to serve the trials and off-road motorcycling community.

“We are now better positioned to develop and innovate across our range while enjoying the security of scale and market position Triumph can offer OSET,” he said.

Triumph Motorcycles has announced that the company’s first electric prototype has completed its final testing and is set for the full reveal in July.

The TE-1 has officially completed its final stage of the testing process.

Developed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering and the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick, the British marquee will unveil the TE-1 on 12 July 2022.

On that date, Triumph will show the bike and reveal the technical aspects of the machine, including the range and battery charging time.

However, most importantly, the full reveal of the working prototype will also mark the company’s intentions for the future.

The Triumph Street Triple 765 is probably among the best middleweight street machine we have yet to test out since its launch in Malaysia back in 2019.

Nevertheless, we still adore the bike from afar, appreciating the British-built machine from the get-go.

Fast forward to 2022, it seems the boys at Hinckley is already busy working on an updated version of the Street Triple, as proven by these new spy shot published by RideApart.

Instantly, the first thing you’ll capture is probably the shining golden glow of the new Ohlins front fork.

The Ohlins suspension system replaces the fully-adjustable 41mm upside-down Showa Big Piston Fork that’s currently available on the Street Triple R and Street Triple RS.

Despite the significant updates, whether the rear suspension matches the new model’s front Ohlins setup is unclear.

The Street Triple R is currently fitted with a Showa monoshock, while the RS gets the fully-adjustable Ohlins STX40 monoshock.

Other notable cosmetic changes include a belly pan similar to the current RS, a carbon fibre hugger and new grab rails at the rear of the pillion seat.

The Street Triple might also get additional colour options and other electronics upgrades.

However, further details will remain a mystery, and we could only speculate what’s in store for us from Triumph.

Nonetheless, since the test mule is already looking like a production-ready unit, it is safe to assume that it could be ready for launch later this year as a 2023 model.

Limited to just 270 units worldwide, the special collaboration also witnessed a limited edition timepiece, the Breitling Top Time Triumph Chronograph.

Breitling Top Time Triumph

As you would expect, the special edition Speed Twin features different aesthetic and specification upgrades over the base model, including a new paint scheme.

The bike gets the beautiful Polychromatic Blue colour scheme, inspired by the blue Triumph Thunderbird 6T, immortalised by Marlon Brando’s Triumph in the iconic 1953 movie, The Wild One.

Triumph also added some nifty hardware, including a higher-spec Ohlins piggyback twin-shocks, billet machined aluminium clutch and alternator covers with a dark anodised finish.

Specific to the new model, the bike also features machined Breitling branding.

Ciri elektronik lain ditawarkan:

  • 5 mod tunggangan
  • wheelie control
  • cornering ABS
  • traction control
  • quickshifter
  • cruise control
  • paparan TFT 5″ dengan fungsi My Triumph

The highly-anticipated 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR finally arrived in Malaysia and is priced at RM119,900.

The official announcement was made by the brand official distributor in Malaysia, Fast Bike Sdn Bhd.

According to the statement, the introduction of the Speed Triple 1200 RR – including the Tiger 1200 and Tiger Sport 660 – will set a new benchmark in their respective segment in Malaysia.

“Motorcycles like the Tiger Sport 660, Tiger 1200 and Speed Triple RR are not only engineered and designed to set new benchmarks in their respective classes, but to make a very bold statement with their on the road presence.

“These are truly game changing motorcycles for an increasingly discerning
Malaysian motorcycle market,”  said Chief Executive Officer of Fast Bike Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Razak Al Malique Hussain.

The new Speed Triple RR is based around its naked cousin (the Speed Triple RS) but with additional electronic suspension and semi-front fairing.

While it may feature the same frame, subframe and fuel tank, the Speed Triple RR is an altogether new motorcycle.

The most notable change is the introduction of the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension, replacing the NIX30 inverted fork and TTX36 twin-tube monoshock on the RS.

Other significant revisions include more aggressive ergonomics thanks to 5 inches lower and 2 inches forward clip-on handlebars and raised footpegs.

Moreover, the use of a single circular LED headlamp paired to a retro-ish front panel, and Red Hopper/Storm Grey colour scheme creates a striking image.

Nonetheless, underneath the elegant looking sports bike sits the same liquid-cooled, DOHC, 1,160cc triple-cylinder engine with 177hp and 125Nm that powers the Speed Triple RS, including a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist function.

Other exciting features include:

  • Brembo MCS lever
  • Brembo Sytlema calliper
  • 320mm front disc and 220mm single rear disc
  • Five riding modes
  • advanced wheelie control
  • cornering ABS
  • traction control
  • bi-directional quickshifter
  • cruise control
  • 5″ TFT instrument cluster with My Triumph connectivity

Meanwhile, customers can enjoy 2-years service package with every purchase of the new Speed Triple 1200 RR from Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia, valid until 31st of March 2022.

Fast Bike Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of the Triumph Motorcycles brand in Malaysia has also announced the official price for the 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 range for the local market.

The introduction of the Triumph Tiger 1200 marks an exciting start to the calendar year for Triumph Motorcycles Malaysia.

“We are anticipating that it will become an exciting year ahead not only for the brand but all motorcycle enthusiasts with this new line-up of models which offers the best proposition in terms of performance, the level of equipment and value,” said Chief Executive Officer of Fast Bikes Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Razak Al-Malique Hussain.

According to an official statement by Fast Bike Sdn Bhd today, the Tiger 1200 range is available in two variants, the GT Pro and Rally Explorer and is priced at RM115,900 and RM130,900 respectively.

The construction of the new Tiger 1200 focused solely on creating lighter and much powerful ADV bikes with class-leading handling and specs on and off-road.

At the centre of the building is an all-new T-Plane crank engine that was previously introduced on the Tiger 900 range.

The all-new 1160cc powerplant now makes 147hp @ 9,000rpm (8.5hp increase than the previous generation) and 130Nm @ 7,000rpm (8Nm up).

For 2022, Triumph’s added the Rally Explorer as the newest member of the Tiger 1200 range which features a 30L fuel tank – 20L fuel tank on the GT Pro -, higher-spec kit and added electronics, inlcuding the innovative blind spot detection system.
